Abstract

A mobile station (10) finds a path-loss (L0) from a received signal to a connecting base station (100) and a path-loss (L1) to the largest adjacent base station (200). The mobile station (10) computes two levels of transmission power (PTX_S, PTX_I) on the basis of the two pass-losses (L0, L1), respectively. The mobile station (10) determines the smaller transmission power out of the two levels of transmission power (PTX_S, PTX_I) as transmission power (PTX) to the connecting base station (100). Alternatively, the mobile station (10) determines the value after the addition to the two levels of transmission power (PTX_S, PTX_I) at a constant rate α (0<α<1) as the transmission power (PTX).
