Abstract

　本発明は、常時接続型コミュニケーションシステムに接続される常時接続型コミュニケーション装置において、ユーザーが、いつでも容易にコミュニケーションを開始することができるコミュニケーション装置と、その制御方法を実現する。 この発明は、２カ所以上の異なる地点に配置され、ネットワークを介して互いに画像情報及び音声情報を交換する常時接続型コミュニケーション装置において、人物を撮影する撮影手段と、画像表示手段と、音声入力手段と、音声出力手段と、前記撮影手段で撮影された顔画像の視線を検出する視線検出手段と、前記視線検出手段の検出結果に基づき、ネットワークに接続されている他の常時接続型コミュニケーション装置を特定して、コミュニケーション開始要求情報を送る制御手段とを有する常時接続型コミュニケーション装置であることを特徴とする。
