Abstract

Provided is a method wherein a bonding method is employed, for manufacturing an organic EL element having no image defect. In the organic electroluminescence element, a first member having at least an anode formed on a first base material and a second member having at least a cathode formed on a second base material are used. At least the first member or the second member has an organic function layer. The anode, the organic function layer and the cathode are bonded in this order. The surface roughness Ra of a second member surface bonded to the first member is 3.0nm or less.
