Abstract

It is possible to limit the use time of a personal computer by children, juveniles, or the like by using a simple operation. A use time limit program is installed in a personal computer operating under an operating system capable of performing a multitask process. When a first memory device containing a first code is connected to a USB connector for connection to an external device of the personal computer, the use time limit program allows the use of the personal computer without any time limit. When a second memory device containing a second code is connected to the USB connector, the use time limit program inhibits or allows the use of the personal computer according to the limit condition of the use time limit stored in the device. The use time limit program inhibits the use of the personal computer if neither of the first or the second memory device is connected.
