Abstract

A method comprises (a) receiving a golf score of each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf; (b) electronically transmitting the golf score to each golfer, and receiving a certification accept message of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score from each golfer; (c) certifying the golf score according to individual certification or multiple certification and storing the golf score into a database; (d) calculating a handicap using a golf score certified in the past and a golf score certified at the current point of time, and providing the handicap; (e) recalculating a course rating by comparing the calculated handicap of each golfer with a course rating of each golf course of each golf club pre-provided from golf clubs; (f) updating a course rating information; and (g) providing a handicap information of each golfer, a handicap ranking information of all golfers and a course rating information of each golf club.

Description

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONFIRMING GOLF SCORE FOR PROVIDING VARIOUS SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICE INCLUDING HANDICAP MANAGEMENT
[TECHNICAL FIELD] The present invention relates to handicap management system and method using total golf score management, and in particular, to total golf score certification method and system that collects, objectively certifies and totally manages state information of golf clubs and score information of golfers using a total database, and additionally provides calculation and certification services of a golf score and a handicap of each golfer using the information.
[BACKGROUND ART] Golf obtains public popularity recently, and is a sport that counts the number of shots taken by hitting a ball with a club on a standard golf course using configuration of the ground such as a field, a hill or a forest until the ball is put into holes of a given number. Generally, the golf course consists of four areas including 'a teeing ground', 'through the green', 'hazard1, and 'the green', and today a standard course is a 18- hole course. Each hole is assigned hole number, and the 18-hole course includes an 'out course' from 1 to 9 and an 'in course' from 10 and 18. A par is preset according to distance and difficulty, and generally the 18-hole course has a par of 72 including four par-three holes, ten par-four holes and four par- five holes. However, various course designs are possible.
The par is the number of shots preset for each hole, and according to golf's scoring, more than one shot under par is call 'under par', more than one shot over par is called 'over par' and the same number of shots as par is called 'even par'. One shot under par is 'birdie', two shots under par is 'eagle', and three shots under par is 'double eagle1 or 'albatross'. One shot over par is 'bogey', two shots over par is 'double bogey', and three shots over par is 'triple bogey'.
Golf has a scoring system, for example stroke play in which players record the total number of strokes taken in the entire round and the lowest total score wins, and match play in which a player or team earns points for each hole and scoring on more holes wins. Besides, there are various scoring systems such as 'against par', 'point tourney', 'tombstone', 'foursomes', 'a threeball match' or 'a fourball match'.
In particular, handicap systems are applied to allow players of different proficiency to play against each other on somewhat equal terms. Generally, if a golfer takes 72 strokes, his/her handicap is 0, and this golfer is called 'a scratch player', and a golfer whose handicap is 10 or less is called 'a low handicapper ' . However, except professional golfers, most of amateur golfers know roughly their handicaps, and the handicap lacks of objectiveness . And, each golf club (golf course) has different difficulty and par, and the difficulty and par lack of objectiveness, therefore it is impossible to fairly compare difficulty and par of each golf club. Further, golf scores of golfers are inadequately managed, for example score cards iecorded during playing a round of golf are collected by one person or thrown out after playing a round of golf, which makes it more difficult to objectively calculate handicaps of the golfers .
[DISCLOSURE] [TECHNICAL PROBLEM] The present invention is designed to solve the above- mentioned problems, and therefore it is an object of the present invention to provide total golf score certification method and system that can collect, objectively certify and totally manage state information of golf clubs and score information of golfers using a total database, and provide various additional golf services including calculation and certification of a golf score and a handicap of each golfer using the information.
[TECHNICAL SOLUTION] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, a total golf score certification method for providing various additional golf services including handicap management according to the present invention comprises (a) receiving a golf score of each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf from a golfer or a golf club manager who participated in playing the round of golf (hereinafter referred to as a score inputter) ; (b) temporarily storing the inputted golf score of each golfer, electronically transmitting the temporarily stored golf score to each golfer, and receiving a certification accept message of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score from each golfer through a certification interface; (c) after receiving the certification accept message of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score from each golfer, certifying the temporarily stored golf score according to individual certification or multiple certification to change a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state and storing the golf score into a database; (d) calculating a handicap of a golfer who obtained the certified golf score using his/her golf score certified in the past and his/her golf score certified at the current point of time, and providing the handicap; (e) re-calculating a course rating by comparing the calculated handicaps of a plurality of golfers with a course rating of each golf course of each golf club provided in advance from each golf club; (f) updating an established course rating information using the re-calculated course rating information; and (g) providing a handicap information of each golfer, a handicap ranking information of all golfers and a course rating information of each golf club.
Preferably, the individual certification is performed by, when a certification accept message of a golfer's golf score is transmitted by the corresponding golfer, changing a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state.
Preferably, the multiple certification is performed by, when certification accept messages of a golfer's golf score are transmitted by the corresponding golfer and at least one other golfer, changing a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state.
Preferably, in the case of individual certification, the method further comprises electronically transmitting a certification accept message of each golf score to the golf club manager who participated in playing the round of golf; receiving the certification accept message of each golf score from the golf club manager through a certification interface included in the message; and certifying only a golfer's golf score, of which the certification accept messages are received from the corresponding golfer and the golf club manager to change a temporary storage state of the corresponding golf score into a permanent storage state.
According to the present invention, in the step (a) , a password is further received from the score inputter, and in the step (b) , a certification accept message is received only in the case that a password inputted by a golfer when the golfer operates the certification interface is the same as a preset password.
According to the present invention, in the step (b) , the golf score information is transmitted via an e-mail or transmitted wirelessly via an interactive mobile text message through a URL callback, and the interactive mobile text message is linked to a golf score confirmation window.
Preferably, the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window includes information about score per hole and 18-hole total score of each golfer who participated in playing the round of golf and a certification confirmation button, with which a golfer can accept certification of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score. Preferably, the course rating is calculated by applying a handicap of each of a proper number (n) of golfers who participated in playing a round of golf at a specific golf club and a golf score of each golfer recorded in the specific golf club to the following Math Figure 1: <Math Figure 1> n { (SI -Hl)+(S2-H2)+... +(Sn-Hn)] n where Cr: an adjusted course rating of a specific golf club, Sl to Sn: a golf score of each golfer in the specific golf club, Hl to Hn: a handicap of each golfer.
In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, a total golf score certification system for providing various additional golf services including handicap management according to the present Invention comprises a web server configured to receive a golf score of each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf from a golfer or a golf club manager who participated in playing the round of golf (hereinafter referred to as a score inputter) and temporarily store the golf score into a database; a score certification server configured to electronically transmit the temporarily stored golf score to each golfer, receive a certification accept message of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score from each golfer through a certification interface, and certify the temporarily stored golf score according to individual certification or multiple certification to change a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state; and an information processing server configured to calculate a handicap of a golfer who obtained the certified golf score using his/her golf score certified in the past and his/her golf score certified at the current point of time, and providing the handicap.
[ADVANTAGEOUS EFFECTS] The present invention stores a certified golf score of each golfer in to a total database, and thus can provide services for calculating correctly and certifying a handicap of each golfer to induce a fair golf play between golfers. In particular, the present invention certifies a golf score through a multiple certification method or a third party certification method to prevent unfair golf score recording, thereby improving reliability of a handicap information. Further, the present invention manages accumulatively a golf play history of each golfer to help the golfer to improve his/her golf proficiency. And, the present invention provides an objective foundation for determining proficiency of amateur golfers in golf tournaments for many and unspecified golfers including the amateur golfers to fairly select tournament participants and induce a harmonious golf play. Also, the present invention adjusts a theoretical degree of difficulty (course rating) of a golf club and a handicap per hole designed by a golf club designer by referencing statistics according to actual golf play, thereby providing a high reliability course rating information of each golf club. Further, the present invention allows different golf play depending on acquirement of a handicap certificate or license to provide an efficient management of a golf club.
Moreover, the present invention collects golf scores of golfers and shares the collected golf scores to handle many tasks efficiently, and develops a golf industry based on statistics by a golf-related authority's referencing to a handicap and a golf play history for each golfer.

[MODES FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION]
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Prior to the description, it should be understood that the terms used in the specification and the appended claims should not be construed as limited to general and dictionary meanings, but interpreted based on the meanings and concepts corresponding to technical aspects of the present invention on the basis of the principle that the inventor is allowed to define terms appropriately for the best explanation. Therefore, the description proposed herein is just a preferable example for the purpose of illustrations only, not intended to limit the scope of the invention, so it should be understood that other equivalents and modifications could be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
FIG. 1 is a view illustrating a configuration of a total golf score certification system for providing various additional golf services including handicap management according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 1, the total golf score certification system according to the present invention comprises a web server 10, a score certification server 20, an information processing server 30, a total database 40, and a client terminal 50.
The web server 10, the score certification server 20, the information processing server 30 and the total database 40 are interconnected to form a system. And, connection between the web server 10 and the score certification server 20, and the client terminal 50 is established through a communication network 1. Here, the communication network 1 includes a wired Internet network based on TCP/IP and a wireless Internet network based on WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) , HSPDA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) or Wibro (Wireless Broadband).
The web server 10 provides reliable golf score management through total golf score certification of the system according to the present invention, handicap calculation and certification services based on the reliable golf score management, and various additional information related to golf. The web server 10 handles signing-up and verification of a golfer or a golf club that wants to receive a service, receives a golf score of each golfer from a verified golfer or golf club, and provides various information (golf score, handicap information and ranking information) generated from the inputted golf score.
The score certification server 20 receives a golf score of each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf from each golfer or a golf club manager who participated in playing the round of golf through the web server 10, and certifies the golf score by transmitting the golf score to each golfer or the golf club manager who participated in playing the round of golf via an e-mail or an interactive text message of mobile communication that requests certification of the golf score. A method for certifying a golf score is described later.
The information processing server 30 calculates a handicap of each golfer according to a predetermined method for calculating a handicap using the accumulated golf scores of each golfer. And, the information processing server 30 adjusts a course rating of each golf course of a golf club using the calculated handicap information of each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf in the corresponding golf club. The total database 40 interworks with the web server 10, the score certification server 20 and the information processing server 30, and stores, updates or deletes various information generated interactively in each server. The total database 40 stores a basic information (a course information, a course rating of each course, a par of each hole and a handicap of each hole) of a golf club provided by each golf club, general information (name, location, telephone number, the name of representative, and e-mail and telephone number of a score certification manager) of golf clubs that signed up, personal information of golfers who signed up, and a golf score and a handicap of each golfer. The golf score information includes the name of golf club where golf round was played, a golf course, par of each hole and the date when golf round was played. The client terminal 50 has a web browser, and can connect to the total golf score certification system of the present invention through the communication network 1. The client terminal 50 may be a computer, a hand-held terminal such as PDA or PMP, or a mobile terminal that is capable of using various information provided by the system. However, the present invention is not limited to a specific kind of the client terminal 50.
FIG. 2 is a view illustrating a configuration of a web server according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention .
Referring to FIG. 2, the web server 2 includes a member management unit 11, a score collection unit 12, and an information providing unit 13. The member management unit 11 handles signing-up of a golfer or golf club manager who connected to the web server 10 through the communication network 1, and performs a user verification when the golfer member or golf club manager who signed up connects to the web server 1. The score collection unit 12 provides a golf score input window to the golfer or golf club manager verified through the member management unit 11 so that the golfer or golf club manager can input a golf score into the window. Preferably, the golfer is a person having a score card among golfers who participated in playing a round of golf. And, the golf club manager is a caddie who participated in playing the round of golf. And, the golf club manager may be a person designated by a golf club to input a golf score. Hereinafter, for convenience of description, both of a golfer and a golf club manager who inputs a golf score are commonly referred to as a 'score inputter'.
The golf score input window includes an interface for selecting a golf club and a golf course where golf round was played, and an interface for indicating detailed information (par per hole, distance, difficulty and a course rating) of the selected golf club and golf course. The score inputter receives the golf score input window, and records the date and tee-off time when golf round was played, and a golf score per hole of each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf. For reference, the golf score input window is provided with a unique rounding number assigned by the score collection unit 12.
The score inputter inputs a golf score, and records a contact information (e-mail address and mobile phone number) of each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf, and sets a corresponding round password. The round password may be set by prior consent between golfers who participated in playing a round of golf or only by the score inputter, and notified to the golfers who participated in playing the round of golf.
The information providing unit 13 provides an access and search service of a handicap information of each golfer, a handicap ranking information of all golfers and detailed information of golf club, a personal information management service and a handicap certification service based on the golf score inputted through the score collection unit 12. FIG. 3 is a view illustrating a configuration of a score certification server according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 3, the score certification server 20 includes a score transmission unit 21 and a score certification unit 22 .
The score transmission unit 21 transmits the golf score inputted through the score collection unit 12 via an e-mail and/or an interactive mobile text message including a URL callback by referencing e-mail address and/or mobile phone number of each golfer recorded with the golf score.
The interactive mobile text message provides a golf score confirmation window wirelessly through the URL callback, and the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window includes a certification interface (for example, a certification confirmation button) that asks each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf if his/her golf score is correct and enables each golfer to request certification of his/her golf score or the other golfer's golf score. Preferably, the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window may be prepared to ask a round password after the certification interface is operated. In this case, if a golfer who received the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window does not know a round password, he/she can not request certification. The round password is set when the score inputter inputs a golf score, and its description is made above. For simple certification of a golf score, the round password may be not inputted.
Each golfer receives the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window provided wirelessly, and if his/her golf score is correct, accepts certification of his/her golf score by- operating the certification interface. In alternative embodiments, each golfer receives the e-mail, and accepts certification of the other golfer's golf score as well as certification of his/her golf score by operating the certification interface.
The score certification unit 22 receives, from the score transmission unit 21, a certification accept message of each golfer who received the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window provided wirelessly to collect certification information of golf scores, and certifies a golf score of each golfer by the below-mentioned method. For reference, the certification accept message is transmitted through the communication network 1 when the certification interface of the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window is operated.
<Individual certification method>
The individual certification method is performed by temporarily storing a golf score of each golfer inputted by the score inputter into the total database 40, and changing a storage state of a corresponding golf score from a temporary storage state to a permanent storage state according to certification of each golfer in the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window provided wirelessly. <Multiple certification method>
The multiple certification method is performed by temporarily storing a golf score of each golfer inputted by the score inputter into the total database 40, receiving a certification accept message of his/her golf score and the other golfer's score from each golfer, and changing only a storage state of a golf score, for which at least predetermined number of golfers accepted certification, from a temporary storage state to a permanent storage state. For example, each of four golfers who participated in playing a round of golf transmits a certification accept message of his/her score and the other golfers' scores, the number of transmission of a certification accept messages is counted for each golf score of each golfer, and if the number of transmission is at least 2 (this value is changeable) , a storage state of a corresponding golf score is changed from a temporary storage state to a permanent storage state. According to this method, a corresponding golfer and the other golfer certify a golf score, and thus the reliability of golf scores stored in the total database 40 is improved. <Third party certification method>
The third party certification method is performed by temporarily storing a golf score of each golfer inputted by the score inputter into the total database 40, receiving a certification accept message of his/her golf score from each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf, receiving confirmation of a golf club manager if each golf score is correct, and changing a storage state of the corresponding golf score from a temporary storage state to a permanent storage state.
To realize this third party certification method, the score transmission unit 21 transmits, to a manager of a golf club where golf round was played, the same e-mail or interactive text message as one to be provided to each golfer using an e- mail or a mobile phone of the golf club manager, and requests certification of a golf score of each golfer. A certification process of the golf club manager is the same as a certification process of each golfer. In alternative embodiments, the score transmission unit 21 transmits a golf score certification request message to a dedicated storage space for a golf club manager provided in the web server 10. The message contains the same information as one included in an e-mail provided to each golfer, and a certification interface. Next, the verified golf club manager checks the message and operates the certification interface to generate a certification accept message of each golf score, and the score transmission unit 21 transmits the corresponding message to the score certification unit 22. And, the score certification unit 22 changes only a storage state of a golf score, for which the golf club manager generated a certification accept message, from a temporary storage state to a permanent storage state. This third party certification method can improve the reliability of golf scores stored in the total database 40 much more the individual certification method. FIG. 4 is a view illustrating a configuration of an information processing server according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 4, the information processing server 30 includes a handicap calculating unit 31 and a course rating adjusting unit 32.
The handicap calculating unit 31 calculates a handicap of each golfer based on the golf score certified through the score certification unit 22. Preferably, a handicap calculating method uses a standard handicap calculating method provided by Korean Golf Association. The handicap calculating unit 31 re-calculates a handicap by referencing to a golf score history whenever a golf score of each golfer is inputted and certified. Preferably, information of each golf club for handicap calculation is pre- stored in the total database 40. The information used to calculate a handicap includes a course rating of each golf club and a golf score of each golfer. And, to improve precision of handicap calculation, the number of time of golf scores for each handicap level is set according to the standard provided by Korean Golf Association. The number of times of golf scores are shown in the following Table 1.

As shown in Table 1, the number of times of golf scores
for each handicap level required to calculate a corresponding
handicap is set. If the requirement is met, a handicap may be
increased.
And, the handicap calculating unit 31 calculates a handicap by applying equitable stroke control, whereby
abnormally high individual score on an individual hole which may
increase the entire score is excluded prior to the score being
posted. The standard is shown in the following Table 2. [Table 2]

The handicap calculating unit 31 calculates a handicap by
applying a maximum score per hole limited according to the standard of Table 2.
And, in the case that golf scores of a golfer are accumulated above a predetermined number, the handicap calculating unit 31 calculates a handicap using the latest golf scores. The golf scores are accumulated at least 15 times, and preferably the handicap calculating unit 31 calculates a handicap using the latest 15 times of golf scores.
However, the present invention is not limited to the exemplary handicap calculating method, and it is obvious to ordinary persons skilled in the art that a handicap may be calculated using the most reasonable handicap calculating method.
The course rating adjusting unit 32 extracts data of golfers accumulated by the system of the present invention, and adjusts a course rating of each golf course of each golf club provided by golf clubs using the extracted data. For example, in the case that an initial course rating set by a golf club is
73.5 (par is 72) , a golfer with a handicap of 0 shoots 73.5 on a corresponding golf course. However, there is a difference between a theoretic value and a substantial value, and thus the course rating should be adjusted.
The course rating adjusting unit 32 calculates a reliable course rating by applying handicaps (Hl to Hn) of a proper number (n) of golfers who participated in playing a round of golf at a specific golf club and golf scores (Sl to Sn) of the golfers recorded in the specific golf club to the following Math

FIG. 5 is a view illustrating a configuration of a total
database according to a preferred embodiment of the present
invention.
Referring to FIG. 5, the total database 40 includes a
member DB 41, a golf club DB 42, a score DB 43 and a handicap DB 44.
The member DB 41 stores information of golfers or golf
club managers that signed up through the member management unit
11, in particular name/location of golf club (only in the case
of a golf club manager) , name, address, ID, password, e-mail
address and mobile phone number of each golfer or golf club manager .
The golf club DB 42 obtains in advance a basic information
of each golf club from golf clubs, for example a course information and a hole information, and stores the basic
information. The course information includes the name of golf course, a course rating, a slope rating and the total number of holes, and the hole information includes hole number, hole distance, a par information and a handicap information.
The score DB 43 stores a golf score of each golfer that is inputted through the score collection unit 12 and certified through the score certification unit 22. The golf score includes the name of golf club, the name of golf course, a golf score per hole, the date of certification and a certification method.
The handicap DB 44 stores a handicap information of each golfer calculated by the information processing server 30 based on the certified golf scores recorded in the score DB 43.
FIG. 6 is a block diagram illustrating functions of a total golf score certification system for providing various additional golf services including handicap management according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 6, first, a score inputter connects to the web server 10 using his/her client terminal 50. A golfer connected to the web server 10 signs up according to a predetermined subscription procedure and goes through user verification by the member management unit 11. A personal information of each golfer recorded at the time of signing up is stored into the member DB 41 of the total database 40. And, a golf club manager in cooperation with a businessman practicing the present invention may sign up as a score inputter and score certificator . Subsequently, the verified score inputter receives a golf score input window from the score collection unit 12 of the web server 10 and inputs a golf score of a golf round that he/she wants to record. When a golfer selects a golf club and a golf course where he/she played a round of golf, the score collection unit 12 provides a golf score input window for indicating detailed information of golf clubs and golf courses pre-stored in the golf club DB 42 so that the golfer can input a golf score. The golfer inputs the date and time when the golf round was played, and a golf score into the golf score input window, is assigned a round number, and sets a contact information (e-mail and mobile phone number) of each golfer who participated in playing the round of golf and a round password. The inputted golf score is temporarily stored in the score DB 43 of the total database 40.
Next, when a new golf score is inputted, the score certification server 20 transmits an e-mail or transmits wirelessly an interactive mobile text message linkable to a golf score confirmation window through URL callback to each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf through the score transmission unit 21, and the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window includes a golf score information and a certification interface. Next, the score certification server 20 receives a certification accept message from each golfer using the score certification unit 22, and certifies a golf score by the individual certification method or multiple certification method mentioned above. The certified golf score is permanently stored into the score DB 43 and currentness is performed on the golf score so that the golf score is used to calculate a handicap and generate a ranking information.
Meanwhile, in the case of the third party certification rr.ethod, the score certification server 20 also transmits an e- mail or an interactive mobile text message to a golf club manager, or in alternative embodiments, the score certification server 20 transmits a golf score certification request message to a dedicated storage space of the web server 10 assigned to a golf club manager, receives a certification accept message from the golf club manager and certifies a golf score of each golfer. When a new certified golf score is registered into the εcore DB 43 of the total database 40, the information processing server 30 calculates a handicap of a golfer corresponding to the golf score. The handicap calculating method is described above, and its description is omitted. The calculated handicap is stored into the handicap DB 44.
And, the information processing server 30 re-adjusts a course rating of each golf course of each golf club that is provided in advance from each golf club and stored in the golf club DB 42, based on the accumulated information in the total database 40. The adjusted course rating of each golf course of each golf club is updated and stored in the golf club DB 42.
The information providing unit 13 provides each golfer with an access and search service of a handicap information of each golfer, a ranking information of all golfers and a detailed information of each golf club generated on the system according to the present invention, a personal information management service and a handicap certification service.
FIG. 7 is a flow chart illustrating a total golf score certification method for providing various additional golf services including handicap management according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and FIGs. 8 to 16 are example views illustrating service displays provided according to preferred embodiments of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 7, the total golf score certification method according to the present invention comprises a web server connecting step (SlOO) , a user verification step of a member
(S200), a signing-up step (S210) , a golf score input step (S300) , a golf score transmission step (S400) , a golf score confirmation and certification step (S500) , a golf score storing step (S600) , a golf score currentness step (S700) , a handicap calculating step (S800) , a course rating adjusting step (S810) , and a golf information providing step (S900) .
The total golf score certification method starts with connection to a web server 10 so that a user enjoying golf records and manages a golf score, and is provided with a handicap calculation and certification service and various information related to golf (SlOO) . Subsequently, the user connected to the web server 10 inputs his/her ID and password, and passes through a user verification procedure (S200) . At this time, if the user is a new visitor who did not sign up, the user signs up according to a subscription procedure provided by the web server (S210) . As mentioned above, a golf club manager may also sign up.
Next, when a golfer who finished playing a round of golf recently among users wants to record and manage his/her golf score, he/she requests a golf score input window and inputs a golf score of each golfer who participated in playing the round of golf as well as his/her golf score. To input a golf score, first, a score inputter selects a golf club and a golf course as shown in FIG. 8. Then, as shown in FIG. 9, the web server 10 provides a golf score input window that indicates a detailed information about the golf club and golf course selected by the score inputter. The score inputter receives the golf score input window and inputs a golf score per hole of each golfer who participated in playing the round of golf (S300) . The inputted golf score is temporarily stored into the total database 40, and as shown in FIG. 10, is assigned a round number. Subsequently, the score inputter records a contact information, i.e. e-mail address and mobile phone number of each golfer who participated in playing the round of golf, and sets a round password by consent with the golfers who participated in playing the round of golf.
Meanwhile, the score inputter may be one of golfers who participated in playing the round of golf, however the present invention is not limited in this regard, so the score inputter may be a caddie or a golf club manager who assisted the golf round in association with a golf club. To input a golf score, the caddie or golf club manager should sign up and pass through verification.
Next, the inputted golf score is transmitted to each golfer via an e-mail or is transmitted wirelessly via an interactive mobile text message linked to a golf score confirmation window through URL callback (S400) . A golfer who received the text message operates a confirmation button of his/her mobile phone to access the golf score confirmation window wirelessly through a URL callback function. As shown in FIG. 11, in the case that the golfer who received the e-mail or received wirelessly the golf score confirmation window does not find any error in his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score, he/she operates a certification interface to request certification of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score (S500) .
Subsequently, the system of the present invention receives a golf score certification accept message, and certifies the corresponding golf score through an individual certification method, a multiple certification method or a third party certification method (S600) . Each certification method is described above, and its description is omitted.
Next, a storage state of the certified golf score is changed from a temporary storage state to a permanent storage state, and the golf score is stored into the total database 40 (S700) .
Currentness is performed on the golf score stored permanently into the total database 40 in the step S700 to calculate a handicap and provide an additional service information related to golf (S800) .
Next, a handicap of each golfer is calculated based on the golf score information, of which state is current (S900) . The handicap is re-calculated whenever a golf score is inputted and certified. And, a course rating of each golf course of each golf club provided from golf clubs is re-adjusted by comparing the course rating with data accumulated in the above-mentioned steps (S910) .
Finally, each golfer is provided with various golf information, a handicap information of each golfer, a handicap ranking information of all golfers or a detailed information of each golf club through a web site according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 12, each golfer can access the details of his/her golf statistics information. And, as shown in FIGs. 13 and 14, a handicap search window is provided, so that each golfer can search a handicap of a specific golfer with whom he/she has played or will play, and thus when playing a round of golf with each other, each golfer can check correctly each other's golf score, thereby resulting in fair golf play. Further, as shown in FIG. 15, each golfer can access a handicap ranking information of all golfers and check a gap in proficiency between the other golfers and himself/herself and his/her proficiency. And, as shown in FIG. 16, each golfer can be provided with a handicap certificate (SlOOO) .
As such, it should be understood that the detailed description and specific examples, while indicating preferred embodiments of the invention, are given by way of illustration only, since various changes and modifications within the spirit and scope of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from this detailed description.

Claims

What is claimed is :
1. A method for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management, the method comprising:
(a) receiving a golf score of each golfer who participated in playing a round of golf from a golfer or a golf club manager who participated in playing the round of golf (hereinafter referred to as a score inputter) ; (b) temporarily storing the inputted golf score of each golfer, electronically transmitting the temporarily stored golf score to each golfer, and receiving a certification accept message of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score from each golfer through a certification interface;
(c) after receiving the certification accept message of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score from each golfer, certifying the temporarily stored golf score according to individual certification or multiple certification to change a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state and storing the golf score into a database;
(d) calculating a handicap of a golfer who obtained the certified golf score using his/her golf score certified in the past and his/her golf score certified at the current point of time, and providing the handicap;
(e) re-calculating a course rating by comparing the calculated handicaps of a plurality of golfers with a course rating of each golf course of each golf club provided in advance from golf clubs;
(f) updating an established course rating information using the re-calculated course rating information; and
(g) providing a handicap information of each golfer, a handicap ranking information of all golfers and a course rating information of each golf club.
2. The method for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 1, wherein the individual certification is performed by, when a certification accept message of a golfer's golf score is transmitted by the corresponding golfer, changing a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state.
3. The method for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 1, wherein the multiple certification is performed by, when certification accept messages of a golfer's golf score are transmitted by the corresponding golfer and at least one other golfer, changing a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state.
4. The method for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 1, further comprising: in the case of individual certification, electronically transmitting a certification accept message of each golf score to the golf club manager who participated in playing the round of golf; receiving the certification accept message of each golf score from the golf club manager through a certification interface included in the message; and certifying only a golfer's golf score, of which the certification accept messages are received from the corresponding golfer and the golf club manager to change a temporary storage state of the corresponding golf score into a permanent storage state.
5. The method for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 1, wherein the step (a) further includes receiving a password from the score inputter, and wherein the step (b) receives a certification accept message only in the case that a password inputted by a golfer when the golfer operates the certification interface is the same as a preset password.
6. The method for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 1, wherein, in the step (b) , the golf score information is transmitted via an e-mail or transmitted wirelessly via an interactive mobile text message through a URL callback, with the interactive mobile text message linked to a golf score confirmation window.
7. The method for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 6, wherein the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window includes information about score per hole and 18-hole total score of each golfer who participated in playing the round of golf, and a certification confirmation button, with which a golfer can accept certification of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score.
8. The method for confirming a golf score for providing
various supplementary service including handicap management
according to claim 1,
wherein the course rating is calculated by applying a handicap of each of a proper number (n) of golfers who
participated in playing a round of golf at a specific golf club
and a golf score of each golfer recorded in the specific golf
club to the following Math Figure 1:

9. A system for confirming a golf score for providing
various supplementary service including handicap management, the system comprising:
a web server configured to receive a golf score of each
golfer who participated in playing a round of golf from a golfer or a golf club manager who participated in playing the round of golf (hereinafter referred to as a score inputter) and temporarily store the golf score into a database; a score certification server configured to electronically transmit the temporarily stored golf score to each golfer, receive a certification accept message of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score from each golfer through a certification interface, and certify the temporarily stored golf score according to individual certification or multiple certification to change a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state; and an information processing server configured to calculate a handicap of a golfer who obtained the certified golf score using his/her golf score certified in the past and his/her golf score certified at the current point of time, and providing the handicap .
10. The system for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 9, wherein the individual certification is performed by, when a certification accept message of a golfer's golf score is transmitted by the corresponding golfer, changing a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state.
11. The system for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 9, wherein the multiple certification is performed by, when certification accept messages of a golfer's golf score are transmitted by the corresponding golfer and at least one other golfer, changing a temporary storage state of the golf score into a permanent storage state.
12. The system for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 9, wherein, in the case of individual certification, the score certification server electronically transmits a certification accept message of each golf score to the golf club manager who participated in playing the round of golf; receives the certification accept message of each golf score from the golf club manager through a certification interface included in the message; and certifies only a golfer's golf score, of which certification accept messages are received from the corresponding golfer and the golf club manager to change a temporary storage state of the corresponding golf score into a permanent storage state.
13. The system for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 9, wherein the web server further receives a password from the score inputter, and wherein the score certification server receives a password inputted by a golfer at the time of operation of the certification interface, and receives a certification accept message only in the case that the password is the same as a preset password.
14. The system for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 9, wherein the information processing server calculates a course rating by applying a handicap of each of a proper number (n) of golfers who participated in playing a round of golf at a specific golf club and a golf score of each golfer recorded in the specific golf club, and updating an established course rating to the following Math Figure 1:

The system for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 9, wherein the score certification server transmits the golf score information to each golfer via an e-mail or transmits wirelessly the golf score information to each golfer via an interactive mobile text message through URL callback, with the interactive mobile text message linked to a golf score confirmation window.
16. The system for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 15, wherein the e-mail or the golf score confirmation window includes information about score per hole and 18-hole total score of each golfer, and a certification confirmation button, with which a golfer can accept certification of his/her golf score or both of his/her golf score and the other golfer's golf score .
17. The system for confirming a golf score for providing various supplementary service including handicap management according to claim 9, wherein the information processing server further provides a handicap ranking information of a plurality of golfers and a coif score history information of each golfer.
