Abstract

An inexpensive electronic lock device using biometric authentication ensuring high security of a house and suitable for a multi-dwelling building such as a condominium. The electronic lock device comprises a biometric authentication unit for identifying a person according to a feature of the human body, an identification number input unit provided for a plurality of doors, an electric lock unit for locking/unlocking a door, and a lock control unit which receives an input through the identification number input unit when authentication by the biometric authentication unit results in identity and unlocks the door corresponding to the authenticated person when the identification number agrees. Making the most of the features of the simple and easy-to-use identification number unit with a high biometric authentication accuracy, high security is ensured, and the facility can be provided at low cost because only one biometric authentication unit is installed at e.g., the entrance of a building.
