Abstract
Disclosed is a biosensor which can be measured and produced in simple manners, can be used in home care medicine or the like, and is inexpensive. Specifically disclosed is a biosensor which comprises: a molecule-recognizing component which can react specifically with an analyte; a stimulation-responsive polymer which can vary in volume by the reaction between the analyte and the molecule-recognizing component; and a metal particle which can vary in the intensity of the localized surface plasmon resonance by the change in the volume of the stimulation-responsive polymer and has an average particle diameter of 0.2 to 200 nm, wherein the metal particle and the molecule-recognizing component are immobilized on the stimulation-responsive polymer. The biosensor can be produced and measured in simple manners, and can detect the analyte with high sensitivity. Further, the biosensor can be produced at a lower cost compared to a conventional one, because it is not needed to use any special material such as a labeling molecule.
