Abstract

La présente invention concerne un nouvel insert ophtalmique bio-érodable ainsi qu'un procédé de préparation dudit insert bio-érodable. Ce procédé consiste à traiter du collagène avec des solvants polaires organiques, des polymères hydrophiles et des substances thérapeutiquement actives dans des conditions contrôlées. La solution ainsi obtenue est séchée à l'air dans une chambre exempte de poussière de façon qu'on obtienne un film de collagène. Ce film est découpé de manière qu'un insert soit formé, lequel est soumis à une réticulation par rayonnement ultraviolet, suivie d'une stérilisation conventionnelle. Les inserts préparés sont très efficaces pour la réalisation d'une occlusion méatique temporaire dans diverses affections cornéennes, de même que pour le traitement du syndrome de l'oeil sec causé par certaines conditions professionnelles.
