Abstract

A collapsible container (10) for air shipment cargo comprises a base (12), a top (80) and collapsible side walls (14) integral with each other to form a ring. Front and rear walls (42, 56) are hingedly secured to the base (12). Each of the side walls (14) has upper and lower wall panels (20, 18) hinged together so as to enable each side wall (14) to collapse inwardly. A door (24) may be hinged to one of the side walls (14). Flaps (36a, 36b, 36c, 36d, 36e) having fasteners (86) are hinged to the side walls (14) and used to assemble and erect the container (10). Portions of the top (80) have fasteners (86) which are used to secure the front and rear walls (42, 56) to the top (80). One of the front and rear walls (42, 56) has upper and lower portions forming an obtuse angle with each other when the container (10) is erected.
