Abstract

Apparatus and process for vacuum transferring food product. A hopper (12) retains food product and includes a discharge port. At least one vacuum chamber (16) has an inlet and an outlet with the inlet coupled to the discharge port, and the outlet having a member that is time-controlled to dispense product from the vacuum chamber. A portioning hopper (75) receives product from the vacuum chamber and dispenses a predetermined weight of product.
