Abstract

The invention relates to the cosmetic use of pantolactone for increasing the cell proliferation in hair follicle centres, reducing apoptosis of hair keratinocytes and extending the anagenic phase. The invention also relates to a cosmetic method, in which an increase in cell proliferation in the hair follicle centres, an extension of the anagenic phase and a reduction of apoptosis of hair keratinocytes are achieved by the topical application of a pantolactone-based agent.
