Abstract

A blank (1) for a folding box comprises an outline which is substantially cruciform in the non-folded state and has - a longitudinal section (2) having a substantially rectangular base wall (3) which is adjoined on the narrow sides of the base wall (3) by a front and rear wall (5, 6) which are connected to the base wall (3) in a hinged manner, and - side walls (8) which adjoin the longitudinal sides of the base wall (3) integrally in a hinged manner, wherein bounding edges (9, 11) of the front and rear walls (5, 6) or of the side walls (8) are adjoined in each case by flanges (10) which, in the assembled state of the folding box, reach over a respectively neighbouring bounding edge (11, 9) of the adjacent side wall (8) or the front and rear walls (5, 6), as a result of which a simple folding box which can be produced with a low number of work steps can be attained.
