Abstract

L'invention concerne l'utilisation de puces RFID (d'identification par fréquences radio) dans des étiquettes de bagages pour fournir à des voyageurs des coupons et des informations concernant leurs destinations respectives. L'étiquette de bagage (ou de « sac ») comprendra une puce RFID incorporée. Lorsque le voyageur vérifie sa valise ou autres bagages, l'imprimante d'étiquette de sac placera une représentation visuelle de la destination du voyageur sur l'étiquette. Cependant l'imprimante « écrira » également l'identification du voyageur, et soit un code de validation, soit la destination sur la puce incorporée. Le voyageur, arrivant à destination et récupérant l'article enregistré, peut ensuite placer l'étiquette de sac au voisinage d'un scanner RFID pouvant lire les informations concernant la destination du voyageur et éventuellement le voyageur lui-même. Le scanner peut alors imprimer des coupons pertinents pour le voyageur, la destination du bagage, ou l'emplacement du scanner lui-même. Après la lecture des informations à partir de la puce RFID, le scanner peut ensuite écrire sur la puce que les coupons et similaires ont été émis pour « annuler la puce » dans le but d'empêcher des utilisations répétitives de l'étiquette. Les mêmes concepts permettent de la publicité et des promotions à d'autres emplacements ainsi que des notices et des informations non apparentées à la publicité.
