Abstract

L'invention concerne un convertisseur d'énergie sous forme de boucle fermée contenant un support qui est capable d'absorber la chaleur provenant d'une source de chaleur externe dans un réservoir haute température et de produire de l'électricité CA tout en acheminant une partie de la chaleur à un réservoir basse température puis en ramenant le support au réservoir haute température. Le convertisseur comprend deux demi-cycles - le premier d'un emplacement chaud vers un autre plus froid et le second dans le sens inverse - qui sont connectés pour constituer un cycle complet. La source de chaleur externe, qui fournit la chaleur requise au convertisseur, peut être sensiblement n'importe quelle source de chaleur, par exemple une centrale nucléaire, un système de climatisation, un compresseur entre autres. Selon un mode de réalisation préféré, la source de chaleur est une radiation solaire et selon un autre mode de réalisation préféré la source de chaleur est un moteur de véhicule. A la différence des centrales énergétiques industrielles conventionnelles, le système de l'invention n'utilise pas de machines consommatrices d'énergie comme des compresseurs ou des pompes. La substance de travail du convertisseur d'énergie de l'invention est un ferromélange, qui remplace la vapeur surchauffée utilisée normalement dans les centrales énergétiques conventionnelles pour entraîner une turbine.
