Abstract

L'invention concerne des systèmes, des procédés et des dispositifs qui améliorent l'efficacité thermodynamique du coeur d'un patient, par implantation d'un ou de plusieurs éléments de renfort sur ou avec le cœur, et application sur ce dernier d'une stimulation électrique. Les éléments de renfort peuvent comprendre un matériau magnétique et/ou à mémoire de forme et sont configurés pour remodeler le cœur de façon à amplifier son énergie mécanique lors d'une réaction à la stimulation électrique. Dans certains modes de réalisation, au moins un élément de renfort comprend une électrode configurée pour détecter des signaux d'électrocardiogramme à l'intérieur du cœur. Un dispositif de stimulation électrique, tel qu'un stimulateur cardiaque ou un défribillateur implantable ou externe, peut être configuré pour réguler l'envoi d'impulsions électriques au cœur sur la base des signaux d'électrocardiogramme détectés. De plus, dans d'autres modes de réalisation, au moins un élément de renfort comprend une électrode configurée pour envoyer les impulsions électriques au cœur.
