Abstract

A seat cushion for use in a wheel chair includes a foam pad (10) contoured to the anatomy of a user positioned thereon and has an indentation (24) in the middle thereof, which receives and drains incontinence fluid from the user. The foam pad (10) encloses an air channel (46) between the indentation (24) and at least one side of the foam pad. A fan (58) housed inside the pad pushes air through the air channel (46), into the indentation (24) and onto the user. Alternatively, the seat cushion may house an air conditioner (60) to circulate cooled air to the skin of the user.
