Description

DESCRIPTION
MULTIPLE MOBILE ROUTER SYNCHRONIZING METHOD FOR MOBILE INTERNET SERVICE WITH MULTIPLE MOBILE ROUTERS
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present invention relates to a multiple mobile router synchronizing method for a mobile Internet service with multiple mobile routers, and a computer-readable recording medium for recording a program for realizing the method; and, more particularly, to a multiple mobile router synchronizing method for providing an Internet access service to a network formed of mobile Internet terminals moving in a group, i.e., a mobile network for managing mobility on a network basis, and a computer- readable recording medium for recording a program for realizing the method.
BACKGROUND ART
[0002] Terms used in the present invention will be defined as follows.
[0003] Care-of Address (CoA) denotes an address having location information of a mobile node (MN) in a mobile
Internet protocol (IP).
[0004] A prefix denotes a mobile network prefix. [0005] A currently used Internet is devised to be used in a fixed place based on transmission control protocol/Internet protocol (TCP/IP) .
[0006] However, as a mobile technology gradually develops,
Internet users desire to use the Internet in a mobile environment as well as a fixed place. In order to satisfy request of the users, Internet Engineering Task
Force (IETF) forms and tries to standardize a working group for mobile IP. Accordingly, a mobile IP standard of IPv4 and IPv6 is established. [0007] The mobile IP is operated well while an individual user terminal is moving. However, the mobile IP has many- problems while subnets including a plurality of user terminals move at a time. That is, when the users use the mobile Internet, it is expected that the users desire to access to the mobile Internet while moving through transportations such as a bus, a metro or a private vehicle. In this circumstance, when each user communicates based on the mobile IP and a transportation such as the subway loading a plurality of users moves from one cell to another cell, there is a problem that all users should register location information. [0008] 'Network Mobility (NEMO) ' for supporting mobility of a subnet unit based on the mobile IP of the IPv6 version has been discussed. As a result, a working group is formed in the IETF and a standard for the working group is actually established.
[0009] An NEMO basic support protocol suggested by the IETF adopts a mobile router concept, installs the router in the transportation, considers moving of the transportation as moving of the entire network, and updates location information in a home agent (HA) corresponding to a mobile router (MR) .
[0010] Generally, for an Internet group communication service, a mobile router (MR) , which is a constituent element of network mobility protocol for forming a mobile Internet terminal, i.e., a mobile node (MN), moving in a group, as a network, and managing the mobility based on a network basis is formed as a multiple format and operated. [0011] When a mobile router (MR) for connecting the mobile Internet terminals moving in a group and the Internet exist in a multiple format, a different prefix is allocated to each mobile router (MR) and individually advertised. Accordingly, since a plurality of prefixes are advertised in one mobile network, the mobile Internet terminals included in the mobile network receive different prefixes for thereby setting up Care of Address (CoA) . This may bring about a great deal of loads onto the management of terminal address.
DISCLOSURE
TECHNICAL PROBLEM
[0012] An embodiment of the present invention is directed to providing a multiple mobile router synchronizing method for synchronizing information between mobile routers such that the multiple mobile routers advertise one identical network prefix to mobile Internet terminals moving in a group when a mobile router (MR) for connecting the mobile Internet terminals moving in a group and the Internet exist in a multiple format, and a computer-readable recording medium for recording a program for realizing the method.
[0013] Other objects and advantages of the present invention can be understood by the following description, and become apparent with reference to the embodiments of the present invention. Also, it is obvious to those skilled in the art of the present invention that the objects and advantages of the present invention can be realized by the means as claimed and combinations thereof.
TECHNICAL SOLUTION
[0014] In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for synchronizing multiple mobile routers (MRs) in a mobile Internet system, the method including the steps of: respectively storing a mobile router list in at least two mobile routers included in a same mobile network, the mobile router list including the at least two mobile routers; allocating a network prefix to be used in the mobile network from an address management server or a home agent (HA) to at least one between the mobile routers; exchanging and synchronizing allocated prefix information between at least two mobile routers; and respectively loading the synchronized prefix information on a router advertisement (RA) message and transmitting the synchronized prefix information to all mobile nodes in the same mobile network through each ingress interface of at least two mobile routers. [0015] When the prefix information respectively allocated in at least two mobile routers is at least two, a prefix to be advertised is unified.
[0016] The multiple mobile router synchronizing method further includes the step of: setting up an address in all mobile nodes on the identical mobile network based on the synchronized prefix information.
[0017] In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a computer-readable recording medium for recording a program in a mobile router (MR) system having a processor, including the steps of: respectively storing a mobile router list including at least two mobile routers included in the same mobile network in the mobile routers; allocating a network prefix to be used in the mobile network from an address management server or a home agent (HA) to at least one of mobile routers; exchanging and synchronizing prefix information allocated between at least two mobile routers; and respectively loading the synchronized prefix information on a router advertisement (RA) message and transmitting the synchronized prefix information to all mobile nodes in the same mobile network through each ingress interface of at least two mobile routers. [0018] When a network mobility protocol for forming a mobile Internet terminal moving in a group as a network and managing mobility based on a network basis loads and provides a multiple mobile router, a plurality of mobile routers included in a mobile network advertise an identical prefix in the present invention. Accordingly, since the mobile Internet terminals included in the mobile network receive an identical prefix and sets up an address, the present invention can easily manage a terminal address.
[0019] Therefore, the present invention may be useful to a multiple mobile router system providing the mobile Internet access service to the mobile Internet terminals forming a network and moving in a group.
ADVANTAGEOUS EFFECTS
[0020] When a network mobility protocol for forming a mobile Internet terminal moving in a group as a network and managing mobility based on a network basis loads and provides multiple mobile routers, a plurality of mobile routers included in a mobile network advertise an identical prefix in the present invention. Accordingly, since the mobile Internet terminals included in the mobile network receive an identical prefix and sets up an address, the present invention can easily manage a terminal address.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS [0021] Fig. 1 shows a mobile Internet system to which the present invention is applied.
[0022] Fig. 2 shows a multiple mobile router synchronizing method for a mobile Internet service with multiple mobile routers in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
BEST MODE FOR THE INVENTION
[0023] The advantages, features and aspects of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, which is set forth hereinafter. Therefore, those skilled in the field of this art of the present invention can embody the technological concept and scope of the invention easily. In addition, if it is considered that detailed description on a related art may obscure the points of the present invention, the detailed description will not be provided herein. The preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail hereinafter with reference to the attached drawings.
[0024] Fig. 1 shows a mobile Internet system to which the present invention is applied. Mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15 move with mobile nodes 11 to 13, which are mobile Internet terminals, while connecting an Internet 18 and the mobile node (MN) . The mobile routers (MRs) 14 and/or 15 manage mobility of the connected mobile nodes. Therefore, transparency is secured in moving of the mobile nodes 11 to 13 and a home agent (HA) 16 can transmit a packet to a location of the mobile nodes 11 to 13 included in the mobile network 19 when the mobile routers (MRs) 14 and/or 15 register a location of a mobile network 19 in a binding cache 17 of the home agent
(HA) 16.
[0025] In the configuration described in the above, a mobile router 1 (MRl) 14 and a mobile router 2 (MR2) 15 advertise a different network prefix and a mobile node 1 (MNl) 11 sets up the CoA as a prefix of the mobile router 1 (MRl) 14. A mobile node 2 (MN2) 12 sets up the CoA as a prefix of the mobile router 2 (MR2) 15. That is, a different prefix is allocated to each of the mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15 and individually advertised, a plurality of prefixes are advertised to a mobile network 19. Accordingly, the mobile nodes 11 to 13 included in the identical mobile network 19 receive different prefixes and sets up an address based on different prefixes .
[0026] When the mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15, i.e., constituent elements of a network mobility protocol for an Internet group communication service, are formed in a multiple format, all mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15 advertise the identical network prefix in the present invention. Accordingly, although the mobile nodes 11 to 13 included in the mobile network 19 receive the router advertisement (RA) from any one of the mobile router 1 (MRl) 14 and/or mobile router 2 (MR2) 15, the mobile nodes 11 to 13 should be able to receive identical prefix information.
[0027] Therefore, in the present invention, a function for forming a mobile router list is added and a function for selecting and co-advertising a prefix to be advertised among the prefixes allocated to each of the mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15 is added. Accordingly, it is possible to efficiently provide a service to the mobile nodes 11 to 13 included in the identical mobile network 19 and manage operation by improving a service integrating function with respect to the mobile network 19 moving while using the prefix.
[0028] Fig. 2 shows a multiple mobile router synchronizing method for a mobile Internet service with multiple mobile routers in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. In Fig. 2, reference numbers 21 and 22 denote ingress interfaces of the mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15 and reference numbers 23 and 24 denote egress interfaces of the mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15. [0029] As shown in Fig. 2, the mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15 operate two kinds of network interfaces including the ingress interface and the egress interface. The ingress interfaces 21 and 22 advertise a mobile network prefix such that the mobile nodes 11 to 13 can set up addresses of themselves based on this prefix. [0030] The egress interfaces 23 and 24 sets up CoA in a moved location and register the CoA in a home agent (HA) 16 through the Internet 18. When it is assumed that the mobile router 1 (MRl) 14 and the mobile router 2 (MR2) 15 recognize that the mobile router 1 (MRl) 14 and the mobile router 2 (MR2) 15 are included in the identical mobile network 19 and a policy for advertising the identical network prefix is set up, the present invention is operated as follows. [0031] The mobile router 1 (MRl) 14 and the mobile router 2 (MR2) 15 respectively store a mobile router list including itself of the mobile router 1 (MRl) 14 and the mobile router 2 (MR2) 15. Subsequently, a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server or the home agent (HA) 16 allocates a prefix to be used in the mobile network 19 to both or any one of the mobile router 1 (MRl) 14 and the mobile router 2 (MR2) 15 according to a conventional method. [0032] The allocated prefix information is exchanged between the mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15 included in the mobile router list before advertising the allocated prefix through the ingress interfaces 21 and 22. When the allocated prefix is more than one, a prefix to be advertised is unified and synchronized through agreement between the mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15.
[0033] When all mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15 in the list check the prefix to be advertised, all mobile routers (MRs) 14 and 15 load the prefix in own router advertisement (RA) message and transmits the prefix to the mobile nodes 11 to 13 through the ingress interfaces 21 and 22.
[0034] Accordingly, although the mobile nodes 11 to 13 included in the identical mobile network 19 receive the router advertisement (RA) message from any one of the mobile router 1 (MRl) 14 and/or the mobile router 2 (MR2) 15, the mobile nodes 11 to 13 may receive the identical prefix information. Therefore, it is possible to efficiently provide a mobile Internet service to the mobile network 19 moving while using the identical prefix. [0035] As described above, the technology of the present invention can be realized as a program and stored in a computer-readable recording medium, such as CD-ROM, RAM, ROM, floppy disk, hard disk and magneto-optical disk. Since the process can be easily implemented by those skilled in the art of the present invention, further description will not be provided herein.
[0036] While the present invention has been described with respect to certain preferred embodiments, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the following claims.
