Abstract

 本発明の光ディスク装置は、光ディスクに光ビームを照射し、前記光ディスクで反射した光ビームに基づいて受光信号を生成する光ピックアップと、前記光ディスクの記録領域へのデータ記録前に、前記光ピックアップを制御して前記光ビームの照射位置を調整し、前記光ディスクの記録領域内の欠陥領域を複数の積層された情報層のうち基準層でサーチするサーチ部と、前記受光信号に基づいてエラーを検出すると、前記エラーが発生した記録領域を欠陥領域であると判定する欠陥判定部と、前記欠陥領域のサイズを前記基準層の領域で測定し、前記基準層の領域に前記欠陥領域があることを示す欠陥情報リストを生成する欠陥サイズ測定部と、前記欠陥情報リストに基づいて前記基準層の領域から他の情報層に垂直に投影した領域にデータが記録されないよう前記記録領域を管理する記録範囲制御部とを備えている。
