Abstract

It is intended to provide a microchip inspection system whereby a change in fluorescence intensity before and after a reaction can be exactly measured and thus detection can be conducted at a high accuracy. This object is achieved by using a microchip inspection system comprising: using a microchip having a prereaction measurement section in which the fluorescence intensity is detected before reacting a target substance with a fluorescence labeled reagent binding specifically to the target substance, a reaction section in which the target substance is reacted with the above-described reagent, and a postreaction measurement section which is located at a position different from the reaction section and in which the fluorescence intensity is detected after reacting the target substance with a the above-described reagent; detecting the fluorescence intensity before the reaction in the prereaction measurement section; reacting the target substance with the above-described reagent in the reaction section; then transferring the reaction mixture comprising the target substance and the above-described reagent from the reaction section into the postreaction measurement section; and detecting the fluorescence intensity after reacting the target substance with the above-described reagent in the postreaction measurement section.
