Abstract

Provided are a liquid crystal display panel, a liquid crystal display element, a liquid crystal display device, a television receiver, and a substrate for the liquid crystal display panel, which are excellent in a display quality. The liquid crystal display panel comprises a pair of confronting substrates, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the substrates, and an orientation film formed on the uppermost layer of at least one substrate on the side of the liquid crystal layer. At least one of the substrates includes, on the liquid crystal layer side, at least one set of confronting linear ridges, and a structure between the set linear ridges.
