Abstract

A video outputting apparatus (10) is provided with a face recognition engine (22) which recognizes a face included in a video; a mask generating section (26) which generates a mask to be placed over a region of the face detected by the face recognition engine (22); a mask synthesizing section (28) which synthesizes the video and the mask; and a video signal outputting section (32) which outputs the synthesized video with the mask. Thus, masking can be performed to a person moving within a photographing region of a camera.
