Abstract

The invention relates to a hydrodynamic coupling - having a bladed primary wheel and a bladed secondary wheel, which are positioned axially opposite of each other, and together form a toroidal working space, which can be filled, or is filled with a working medium; - wherein at least one of the two bladed wheels is supported on a thread, helical toothing or the like so that, by means of a relative rotational movement in relation to the thread, helical toothing or the like, it can be displaced in a first direction by the other bladed wheel in the axial direction of the hydrodynamic coupling and, by means of a relative rotational movement in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction, it can be displaced in the direction of the other bladed wheel. The invention is characterized in that - the hydrodynamic coupling has no return device for the wheel that is displaceable in the axial direction, which applies a direct or indirect spring force or an axial pressure force to the displaceable wheel for displacing the same.
