Abstract

An apparatus for displaying bedding at the point of sale of a mattress 12 includes a fitted covering 10 for positioning on a mattress 12. The covering 10 includes a surface 28 having a plurality of different bedding materials 16 applied to the surface 28 for display purposes. The covering 10 includes a top wall 28 and a side wall 30, and a plurality of panels 32 or layers 34 of bedding material 16 may be coupled to the top wall 28. A method for advertising and displaying bedding for a mattress 12 includes the steps of providing a covering 10 having two or more different types of bedding material 16 for partially covering a mattress 12 and applying the covering 10 to a mattress 12 at the point of sale such that the different types of bedding materials 16 are visible to a consumer. The covering 10 does not completely obscure the open space 14 of the mattress 12.
