Abstract

A packaging machine for packaging groups of articles (B) such as cans or bottles into paperboard cartons (C) has a control mechanism for controlling the volume of articles conveyed between an infeed position and a loading position. The volume of article is controlled such that only integer numbers of groups of articles are transmitted to the loading position such that the packaging machine produces only fully loaded cartons.
