Abstract
The invention relates to a method for automatically acquiring traffic inquiry data, e.g. in the form of an origin/destination matrix, especially as in input information for traffic control systems. The origin/destination matrix indicates one information each in relation to the volume of traffic for a plurality of departure areas and for a plurality of destination areas. The inventive method comprises the following steps: a) automatically detecting vehicles in a departure area; b) automatically detecting the vehicles in a destination area; c) establishing an origin/destination matrix by modifying the information in relation to the volume of traffic between the detected departure area and the detected destination area depending on the detection of the vehicles in the destination area.
