Weiterhin ist aus der EP 0818366 A1 ein in der Rückenlehne eines Kraftfahrzeuges eingebauter Seitenairbag bekannt. Derartige Fehlzündungen haben oftmals fatale Folgen, wenn beispielsweise der Arm des Fahrers durch den sich schlagartig nach vorne öffnenden Seitenairbag jDeeinflusst und nach vorne geschleudert wird. Durch die plötzliche und unerwartete stoßartige Bewegung des Armes kann der Fahrer das Lenkrad verreißen und möglicher weise einen Unfall verursachen, oder die Hand des Fahrers kann am Armaturenbrett oder der Windschutzscheibe aufprallen wodurch Verletzungen entstehen können. Der Erfindung liegt daher die Aufgabe zugrunde einen Seitenairbag anzugeben durch den im Falle eines Crash oder einer Fehlzündung zuverlässig verhindert wird, dass beim Befüllen des Gassackes mittels einer Treibgasquelle der Arm des Fahrers nach vorne geschleudert wird, sondern dass der Arm des Fahrers durch den Gassack von der Armauflage weg zum Oberkörper hin abgedrängt wird.It happens again and again that airbags in motor vehicles are inflated by the unintentional activation of the gas generator without an accident has occurred.
