Abstract

The invention concerns the measurements of uncertainties affecting the ballistic trajectories followed by certain projectiles. The invention concerns a method for determining estimations δ^pi of dispersions δpi affecting the initial parameters pi associated with the trajectory of a projectile, based on the knowledge of the trajectory theoretically followed when the initial parmeters have their nominal values and the measurement of a quantity of estimation (A)t at differennt consecutive times tk of the duration of the flight of the projectile. The invention also concerns a method using said estimations to estimate the range error committed by a given projectile. The invention is particularly designed to adjust the firing of mortar or artillery projectiles.
