Abstract

Ein explosionsgeschützter Steckverbinder (1) weist ein Steckerteil (2) und ein Steckbuchsenteil (3) auf, wobei der Steckerteil (2) ein Steckergehäuse (4) mit wenigstens zwei in einem Steckereinsatz (5) angeordneten Steckerstiften (6) und der Steckbuchsenteil (3) ein Steckbuchsengehäuse (7) mit in einem Buchseneinsatz (8) angeordneten, entsprechenden Einsteckbuchsen (9) aufweist. Um einen solchen explosionsgeschützten Steckverbinder dahingehend zu vereinfachen, dass er einfacher handhabbar insbesondere bei der Trennung von Stecker- und Steckbuchsenteil unter Aufrechterhaltung des Explosionsschutzes ist, weist ein Gehäuse (4, 7) eine mit dem anderen Gehäuse (7, 4) lösbar verbindbare Außenhülse (10) auf, wobei bereits vor elektrischer Kontaktierung von Steckerstiften (6) und Einsteckbuchsen (9) ein erster Spalt (11) zwischen Außenhülse (10) und anderem Gehäuse (7, 4) und ein zweiter Spalt (12) zwischen Außenhülse (10) und zugeordnetem Einsatz (4, 8) zur Realisierung der Zündschutzart druckfeste Kapselung d beziehungsweise erhöhte Sicherheit e ausgebildet sind.
