Abstract
The invention relates to a method for automatically MIG/MAG welding, in particular, pipes for forming a pipeline with the aid of at least one welding torch set in oscillating motion transversal to the parting line between the pipes having machined ends that, once put in place, are aligned without play while forming a straight beveled edge. According to the invention, the set value of at least one electric variable relative to the electric arc varies over the course of the oscillating motion of the welding torch transversal to the parting line. The set values of the electric variables move between a set value corresponding to the position of the welding torch when it is in the parting line and two set values each corresponding to a furthest lateral position of the torch when it is at an edge of the beveled edge. The invention is for use in the welding of pipelines.
