Abstract

La présente invention concerne la résistance renforcée de colonnes de béton (18) au moyen de composites de polymères renforcés par fibres FRP, qui peut être un procédé efficace pour rénover des colonnes existantes. Des composites FRP présentent un certain nombre d'avantages par rapport à l'acier, notamment leur rapport élevé résistance sur poids et leur excellente durabilité. L'efficacité du confinement de matériaux FRP pour des sections rectangulaires peut-être améliorée par la réalisation de modification de forme de sorte qu'une section de colonne rectangulaire soit modifiée en une forme qui ne présente aucun coin de 90 degrés telle qu'une colonne elliptique, ovale ou circulaire. Un béton expansé (22) peut être utilisé avec profit entre le matériau PRP (26) et le béton existant (18) de façon à obtenir une tension a posteriori périphérique du matériau FRP et améliorer le confinement du béton. Cette invention concerne aussi un modèle analytique d'éléments finis qui décrit la relation stress-contrainte des colonnes confinées par FPR après la modification de forme.
