- It consists of a base that removably adapts to the respirator mask shells and has two lateral elements making it possible to attach a wing with each side of the base having openings for attaching the straps of the harness positioned around the head and possibly a strap intended to maintain the patient's mouth in the closed position.

- the upper part of the "butterfly" consists of a flange 11 which may either be rigid and form an integral part of the base 1, or be composed of a strap of the elastic plastic material type, translucent or not which will be held at the ends.
- the purpose of this strap is to be the major element of the upper compression of the mask to avoid tilting forward during a high voltage caused by the mask air supply hose (s) and other accessories connected to the supply circuits.
- the attachment of the fins 2 by elements of the “press-button” or similar type provides several advantages which are not found in conventional systems during movements of the patient's head. Indeed, in these systems, the shell 7 of the mask is integral with the harness. All the constraints of the latter are automatically reflected by a movement of the shell on the patient's face, causing significant inconvenience and risk of leaks.
- the stresses linked to these movements are passed on to the fins 2 and to the base 1. These absorb them by virtue of the rotation of the "clipping" of the fins with the base d on the one hand and the rotation of the base on the air inlet 6 on the other hand. All of these movements do not cause any stress on the patient's shell 7, the latter being insensitive to movement and always remaining in the same optimum position.
- the opening of the harness to release the mask is only carried out by separating one of the fins 2 right or left.
- the base 1 and the fins 2 will preferably be made of material compatible with short and long term use. This base will either be thermoformed in PTEG polyester or any other material with equivalent characteristics, or made from a mold and will withstand the constraints related to cleaning and sterilization procedures.
- the base 1 ′ may advantageously be formed of three integral elements ( Figures 2, 3 and 4): - an upper cover 12 with an external device provided with two lateral extensions 13 serving as a base for the fixing harness, - a flexible and elastic intermediate veil 14 in which the shell 7 of the mask will be placed, which will be introduced through the base and will be placed in a groove 15 in the shape of an "L" all along the base of the periphery, - a contact lip 16 device intended to rest on the patient's skin.
- This base will be made of silicone or other medical grade material for long term use ( Figures 2 and 3). The elasticity of this material makes it possible to produce a unique model of base adapting to all the hulls of respiratory masks, whatever their size.
- This device is in particular studied for the mounting of shells 7 of respiratory masks made to measure from a three-dimensional acquisition process ("3D"), digital or not, recording the reliefs and hollows of the patient's face, and used to produce by means of a numerically controlled machining system a mold representing the interior or exterior imprint of the shell and making it possible to form the latter by thermoforming a sheet of synthetic material.
- this shell will be determined to include only the final rounding of the nose and the nostrils.
- the digital file or files obtained are modeled by means of computer-aided design software to produce the mold by means of a numerical control machining system step by step.
- This file (s) may be transferred to the memory of a standard household or portable computer equipped with a graphics card and a modem, then transmitted via the Internet, or another telematic network, to an operating site. files for making masks.
- the computer-aided design software will advantageously be arranged to automatically take into account the morphology specific to each human facial shape or not.
- the system described will preferably be connected to the conduit 17 for supplying gas under pressure by a connection with articulation 18 with ball joints.
- the assembly will essentially consist of a female ball joint 19 and a male ball joint 20, one mounted on the respiratory mask the other at the end of the supply duct 17 and both comprising a substantially cylindrical connection which can be flared to allow the connection and disconnection of fittings of various diameters.
- At least one cylindrical intermediate sleeve 21 comprising two spherical elements 22, 23 respectively male and female, so as to allow a vertical angle of movement of at least 90 ° (FIG. 5 ).
- This system in particular reduces the traction effects emitted by all the fixed elements which are located before the connection.
- the three elements above are each formed of a single piece made of molded plastic material supporting or not the temperature constraints or other chemical procedures related to sterilization, or other material and arranged to allow the mounting of the ball joints by force fitting .
- the generally cylindrical conduits leading into the ball joints must not be partially blocked, in order to limit any form of restriction in the passage of gases, both downstream and upstream.
- the movement of the ball joints is limited by an annular lug 24 of the male parts bearing on an internal annular stop 25 of the female parts ( Figures 6 and 7).
- a fictitious cylinder 26 passing through all the ball joints must thus be generated forming a virtual air flow channel having no restriction whatever the inclination of the ball joints.
- the abutment cylinder 26 of the ball joint 19 may advantageously have a position tangential to the female ball, in order to center the center of gravity outwards. This position will facilitate the rotation of all the ball joints to an equilibrium position, minimizing the forces to achieve it (Figure 5).
- the device that is the subject of the request due to its composition and design, allows it to be placed on patient mask shells, whatever their size. The positioning of the various constituent elements gives the object of the invention a maximum of useful effects which had not, to date, been obtained by similar devices.
