Description

DESCRIPTION TITLE : «Method of making a seamless garment» The present invention refers to a method of making a seamless garment in accordance with the preamble of the claim 1. The use of laminates or reinforcing materials to supply a support or additional control for clothing, in particular in sports wear, ecc. are known. Also the use of a layer of plastic between two layers of fabrics is known, the plastic layer having characteristics causing the two layers of fabrics to merge in order to reinforce special zones or portions of a garment so as to avoid sewing between the two layers posed on top of each other. A material of reinforcement made in this way is a type of granular paste which is applied onto the surface of the fabrics to be united in a way that the said paste has the possibility to penetrate the fabrics in order to merge with the fibres which the fabrics consits of, once the fabrics and the paste were exposed to a specific process of heat-pressing. The penetration of the paste into the fibres of the juxtaposed fabrics results in a thickening of the fabrics with consequent modification of the aesthetic aspect and the quality which is recognised by touch as well as once the garment which has been assembled in this way is in contact with the skin of the wearer. Practically 'the garment obtained in this way results being less soft and wearable than a garment made with normal seams. In view of the state of the described technique, the aim of the present invention is to provide a method of making a seamless garment which will not have the disadvantages of the noted technique. According to the present invention this aim is reached, through a method of making a seamless garment in accordance with the characterising part of the claim 1. Thanks to the present invention it is possible to design and produce garments without sewing. It is possible to obtain garments which result more comfortable than garments which are sewn. The characteristics and advantages of the present invention become evident in the following detailed description of a form of practical realisation, illustrated as an non-limitative example in the united designs, in which : the figure 1A -1C show respectively a schematic top-,front- and axonometric view of a form of realisation of the method in accordance to the present invention. Referring to the figures a first portion 1 and a second portion 2 of the same or a different fabrics 3 are identified. The first portion 1 of the fabrics 3 is approached by or put next to the second portion 2 of the fabrics 3 until the respective edges 4 and 5 of these portions 1 and 2 are in contact with each other but non placed on top of each other. It is noted further that than a film or layer 6 with adhesive characteristics is placed on the edges 4 and 5. The film 6 penetrates the fibres of the edges 4 and 5 of the respective fabrics 1 and 2 through an action of heat-pressing. Through a work cycle of the said heat-press, being a work cycle conducted at a specific temperature T and at a particular pressure P applied for a determined span of time t, one obtains that the adhesive layer 6 penetrates the pores of the edges 4 and 5 of the fabrics 3. Following this operation one obtains a type of lamination in which the adhesive film 6 amalgamates with the fibre of the edges 4 and 5 until becoming one. In other words an operation of heat-sealing is executed by the resulting combination of placing the edges 4 and 5 of the fabrics 3 next to each other with superposition of the adhesive film 6. The adhesive film 6 replaces the function of a traditional seam, but permits advantageously to obtain garments with the characteristics of extreme softness, elasticity and resistance to perforation. Effectively the adhesive film 6 supports all traditional forces of traction and torsion which a garment is exposed to and this results being possible thanks to the positioning in respect to the edges 4 and 5 of the fabrics 3. It is to be noted in particular that in order to obtain this effect of lamination the temperature T which the mentioned combination of the edges 4 and 5 and the adhesive film 6 are exposed to must not be inferior to the temperature of the fusion Tp of the adhesive film 6. It becomes evident that the temperature T, pressure P and time t are to be regulated in function of the type of adhesive film used 6 and in function of the typology of the fabrics for the parts 4 and 5. In effect if for example one uses an adhesive film 6 having a width between 20 and 22 millimetre, and a thickness S between 80 and 140 micron and a composition of at least one or more layers of polyurethane and the fabrics
3 consists of a combination of two materials, the temperature T, pressure P and time t have to be comprised for example in an interval of temperature T between 100 °C and 200 °C, more specifically 180 °C, while the pressure has to be comprised , for example, of an interval of pressure P between 4 and 8 bar, more specifically 6 bar, and finally the period of time t has to be comprised of an interval between 10 and 40 seconds, more specifically 15 seconds. It is notes that the fabrics 3 can be for example, wool, or cashmere, or cotton, or cotton mixes with synthetic fibre, ecc. or a combination of one of these materials. As already described based on the typology of the fabrics selected for the confection of garments the values T,P and t at which the heat- sealing process has to be executed, vary. It is also to be noted that the adhesive film 6 can be transparent as well as coloured, thus having the possibility to be invisible once the process of heat- pressing is terminated or being coloured in various shades to satisfy specific requests of the user and/or in order to realise particular colour combinations. Thanks to the present inventive method it is in this way possible to obtain garments soft to the touch, which do not create unwished thickness and also thanks to the perfect adhesion between the fabrics an optimal resistance to the forces of traction and torsion. Obviously a technician of the field, with the aim to satisfy emerging and specific requests could bring various modifications and variants to the embodiment above' described, all comprised in the area of protection of the invention which is described by the following claims.
