Abstract

L'invention concerne un système permettant de manipuler des objets éventuellement contaminés (10), tels que du courrier entrant, et comprenant une enceinte (25) pouvant être isolée de l'environnement et d'une chambre (27) d'un système de décontamination (22) connecté par voie fluidique à celle-ci. L'enceinte comprend une ouverture (42) dimensionnée de manière à recevoir un contenant (14) renfermant les objets. Des manipulateurs (44) permettent de trier le courrier dans l'enceinte sans risque de contamination de l'utilisateur ou de l'environnement. Le courrier est transporté entre l'enceinte et la chambre et est isolé en même temps de l'environnement aux fins de décontamination à l'oxyde d'éthylène. Du peroxyde d'hydrogène à l'état de vapeur ou un autre gaz décontaminant est utilisé pour décontaminer l'enceinte, le contenant et du courrier résiduel quelconque dans l'enceinte, dans le cas où on a déterminé que ceux-ci ne pouvaient être soumis au traitement à l'oxyde d'éthylène.
