Abstract

The invention relates to a safety slide rail consisting of a horizontal metal slide rail mounted on posts, characterized in that it is fitted with a second slide rail comprising wooden rails fixed to a bumper system. The bumper system can, for example, comprise corrugated metal frames fixed by screw-bolt connection to said posts. The wooden rail is made of net-like wood and provides resistance and flexibility enabling impacts to be dampened, complementing the bumper system. A wooden rail can also be added to the metal slide rail. The main application of the invention relates to the protection of drivers of two-wheel vehicles who accidentally fall onto the roadway and drivers of vehicles ejected from said vehicles and who are thrown towards the posts of the metal slide rails.

Description

The subject of the present invention is road safety barriers made of cross-linked wood fixed to a bumper element serving as a shock absorber (type AS 1 and AS Ibis), itself fixed by bolting to the foot of the existing slides or to posts immobilized after having been previously drilled, to introduce the fixing bolt. The main application of the invention relates primarily to the production of road safety barriers placed along all roads and motorways, or even certain streets. This invention was made primarily for drivers of two-wheelers who accidentally fall on the road, but it can also save the lives of drivers of cars ejected after an impact and are thrown towards the posts of the metal slides. With regard to traditional slides, the rails are consumed entirely of metal profiles giving resistance as requested by the instructions of the Ministry of Equipment, Housing and Spatial Planning and Transport. This imposed resistance corresponds to level 1 for the highest class. We will not return to the details of these different imposed and justified classes. We can see all the same that, although very necessary, these slides are not at all aesthetic. For a very long time, many manufacturers have been looking for the remedy to improve the aesthetics of slides on all roads, without really succeeding with the exception of half-wood, half-metal slides, but which risk aging badly. The invented safety barrier type AS 1 and AS 1 bis has a single stringer made with the retified wood process, the brand "Bois Rétifié" having been registered under license from the Company NO, of which the companies RETITEH and RETIBOIS are holders of sub- licenses. These companies have given their approval so that the invention we are talking about can make use of the characteristics of retified wood and consequently claim the complementary and justifiable utility of the manufacture of crosslinked wood beams. The French brand "Bois Rétifié" will be accompanied by the mention "R" to indicate that it is a registered trademark. We can at any time provide all the information necessary for the understanding of the usefulness of this new material. The advantage of using this raw material compared to traditional wood is undoubtedly: resistance to fungi and insects ("general" durability), dimensional stability (hydrophobia), hardness and compressive strength, l 'color consistency, and fire resistance. Wood, to be crosslinked, can use all kinds of species, but for the manufacture of slides we will mainly use species such as spruce, Vosges fir, northern white and red fir, pine sylvestre, poplar. In the manufacture of retified wood, no toxic product is involved. The wood is immediately machinable after treatment, for the manufacture of slides. The waste is not toxic. The dimensional stability is improved by 50% and the appearance of the slide is very aesthetic. For reference, retified wood is already in place on certain roads in France as a noise barrier. For this invention, the wood was chosen because it brings a certain flexibility to the crash barrier mainly for accident victims of two-wheelers. This slide was not designed to replace the existing metal slide, which is mainly used to block vehicles. The wooden beam will therefore be fixed on a bumper system, this part is made of a corrugated metal frame (see Figures 2, 3, 4). This bumper will have a maximum retraction of 3 to 5 cm which can after tests be modified. It will be fixed on the posts of the existing slides or on new posts, which are set back from the plumb of the existing slide by about 10 cm.

(Figures 4, 5, 6, 7, et 8)The function of this bumper is essentially to considerably absorb the impact of the sliding of the biker or other users of two-wheelers, in addition to the flexibility of the wooden beam. The fixing of this bumper can be done directly using bolts that will be fixed after drilling the foot of the existing slide, or on new posts. The device can serve as a connection between them of the slides type AS 1 and AS 1 bis, as drawn and dimensioned in the attached figures. This part is fixed by a bolt on the fixing post of the existing or to be installed slides. It essentially serves as heald joints between them. The device can also serve as an intermediate for fixing the AS 1 slides and AS Ibis, as drawn and side in the attached Figures. This part is fixed by a bolt on the fixing post of the existing or to be installed slides. It essentially serves as a support for the boom. The bottom of the beam must be placed at least 5 cm from the ground, thus allowing the maintenance of the shoulders of the roadway near these slides. A tolerance of 10 cm maximum from the bottom of the rail to the ground will be accepted to protect the accident victim from the posts of the slides, by allowing him to be in contact with the rail. The arm will be designed either on an ergonomic type which can provide impact resistance, but also flexibility in order to absorb the shock in addition to the bumper system (type AS Ibis), or on a flat type (type AS 1 ). In all cases, all the edges will be made with round edges so that the accident victim is as protected as possible, which is the essential aim sought by the invention. The stringer will be made of retified wood with a width of 22 cm maximum and a thickness in the widest parts of 5 cm to be only 3 cm in the hollow or flat parts. The thicknesses will be studied definitively when the invention is definitively accepted by the Ministry of Equipment, Housing, and Spatial Planning and Transport. The impact resistance study will take into account the constraints and regulations that will be imposed for this invention. The maximum length of the boom will be 4 meters. For the installation of the rails in the curves, the bumper piece will be placed on each post at minimum every 1.50 m, otherwise it will be necessary to complete with intermediate posts. On each bumper we will attach rails of 1.5 meters. All beams of the AS 1 or AS Ibis type will be connected to each other by a special part, the description of which is given in the drawings attached to this file. (Figures 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8)

Ce crochet aura l'avantage de pouvoir fixer 2 lattes deTo improve the aesthetics of the rails already in place and even those to be installed which have already proven their usefulness, we can fix crossbeams in retified wood. For the fixing of the AS 2 type heald we will take the simple system of clips fixed by buttoning, as presented in Figures 10, 11, 12 and 13. For the fixing of the AS 2bis or AS 2ter heald, we will take the hook system fixed by bσulonnage, as shown in Figures 14, 15 and 16. This hook will have the advantage of being able to fix 2 slats

By adopting this barrier facing system, we will certainly obtain an essential complement to road safety. We will significantly improve the landscaping of all roads and we will certainly have a psychological effect on all road users who will appreciate the effort that all communities are working to improve road safety and landscaping, something no one has thought of yet. Of course all users of two-wheelers and more especially bikers should welcome the special intention that communities have for them.
