Abstract

The invention relates to a method for reducing the power usage of a mobile terminal, whereby at least one mobile radio module (3, 4, 5) is at least partly activated, according to the position of the mobile terminal (6) and a radio cell map (2). A logging-in attempt in a radio cell in which the mobile terminal is located is preferably carried out by means of the at least one mobile radio module after activation thereof. The mobile terminal comprises a number of mobile radio modules (3, 4, 5) which can be operated according to a number of differing mobile radio standards.
