Abstract

Un mécanisme de gestion orienté réseau effectue des opérations de découverte automatique de dispositifs activés par IP, couplés opératoire à un réseau local et générant automatiquement une interface utilisateur graphique illustrant un répertoire desdits dispositifs. Un utilisateur interagit avec l'interface utilisateur graphique pour sélectionner un (ou plusieurs) de ces dispositifs et pour mettre à jour les réglages opérationnels du ou desdits dispositifs. Le mécanisme de gestion de l'appareil (ou des parties de celui-ci) peut (peuvent ) être pris en charge en tant qu'applet qui téléchargé depuis un serveur web éloigné. Autrement, il peut faire partie d'un serveur/d'une application basé sur le web, accessible à des dispositifs de calcul sur le réseau local. Les opérations prises en charge par le mécanisme sur réseau peuvent faire office de mandataire pour le dispositif sélectionné, dans la mise en oeuvre de services de configuration avancée et d'autres services nécessitant une interaction avec le dispositif.
