Abstract

The invention relates to a combination of a decoder and a portable object with a chip (30'). The decoder comprises: a. a functional block with a printed circuit (56) on which integrated circuits (51) are fixed, an element (53), forming a guide cavity (50) into which a first key can be introduced, which then comes into contact with read/write contact pads (54), projecting on one face of the printed circuit (56), b. two half shells, for the housing (55, 55'), which combine to house said functional block, one of the half shells comprising two transverse protective screens (52, 52'), facing the guide cavity (50). The portable object with a chip is in the form of a second key (30'), used as a replacement for the first key and which can be obtained by detaching a pre-cut formed in an ISO format chipcard, called ID-1, said second key (30') being wider and thinner than the first key. Contact strips (22) on said second key (30') contact with the read/write contact pads (54) by guiding the second key using the two protective screens (52; 52') in one of said half shells (55') and the upper edges of said cavity, without which said second key (30') would enter said cavity (50).
