Abstract

The invention relates to a method of producing textured ceramic based on lead magnesium niobate and lead titanate, comprising the preparation of a fine powder of said compound. The invention is characterised in that it also consists in: producing monocrystals of the aforementioned compound, mixing the fine powder of the compound and the monocrystals thereof, casting said mixture, and sintering the cast mixture. The inventive method can be used to produce ceramics with enhanced grain orientation and, thus, ceramics with improved piezoelectric characteristics. The invention is suitable for medical probes, sonars, actuators.
