Abstract

Disclosed is an apparatus for cutting lumber, used in doing interior work of a house or a building, which is manufactured so as to be disassembled, thereby facilitating transportation, maintenance and installation thereof, and is equipped with a sawdust collection container, thereby also facilitating collection and disposal of sawdust generated in the course of the work. According to the present invention, the lumber-cutting apparatus comprises a work table (10) formed with a slit hole on one side of the upper part thereof, a plurality of legs provided on each corner of the bottom of the work table, a cutting part (30) having a motor whose rotational shaft is coupled to a circular saw, the motor being fixedly supported by the support plate on the bottom of the work table, and the circular saw being projected over through the slit hole of the fixed plate, a casing (40) whose inside is hollow, being fixedly coupled to the bottom of the work table, thereby covering the cutting part, a discharging part (50) having a blowing fan and a hose, the blowing fan communicating with casing and the hose communicating with the blowing fan, and a sawdust collection container (56) fixedly connected to the hose of the discharging part, communicating with each other. The lumber-cutting apparatus according to the present invention is designed to cut plywood used in interior works for a house or a building, and is manufactured with the parts thereof which can be disassembled, thereby making it easy to carry and maintain it. This apparatus is also useful in providing users with agreeable work environment all the time and protecting their health from dust.

APPARATUS FOR CUTTING LUMBER
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an apparatus for cutting lumber, and more particularly, to an apparatus for cutting lumber used in doing interior work of a house or a building, which is manufactured so as to be disassembled, thereby facilitating transportation, maintenance and installation thereof, and is equipped with a sawdust collection container, thereby also facilitating collection and disposal of sawdust generated in the course of the work
Background Art
Generally, a cutting apparatus of a machine saw or a sawing machine is used in cutting lumber or metal materials. As power is supplied, the saw rotates or moves forward so as to cut the materials with length and size as desired. The cutting apparatus is a construction tool to cut objects required to be cut with length and size as desired by rotating a circular saw.
A conventional plywood cutting apparatus has been assembled by use of materials in the field for the work, which has not been provided separately.
After completion of the work, the conventional apparatus has been destroyed in the work field without moving to a new location from the current workshop. Then, a new cutting apparatus is assembled by use of materials in the new field for the work in the same manner as described above.
In this regard, lots of expense and time have been consumed in assembling the conventional cutting apparatus. Further, since the conventional cutting apparatus manufactured so has no separate device to collect and dispose dust and sawdust generated when cutting plywood and similar products, the sawdust and dust are blown over the inside of the workshop, thereby causing pollution thereof and deteriorating the working conditions. In addition, if the blown dust is inhaled into the workers in the workshop through their respiratory organs, this may cause a variety of diseases, especially in respiratory organs.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention is conceived to solve the aforementioned problems. An object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus for cutting lumber such as plywood used for interior works of a house or building.
According to an aspect of the present invention, since parts of the cutting apparatus are manufactured so as to be disassembled, it is convenient to carry and maintain it. The parts of the cutting apparatus moved as separated can be assembled in another workshop in an easy and simple manner. Preferably, the cutting apparatus may further comprise a sawdust collection container within which sawdust and dust generated when cutting lumber are collected, and the sawdust and dust being also collected inside the casing of the cutting apparatus. The dust and sawdust collected in the sawdust collection container and inside the casing of the cutting apparatus can be easily disposed, to thereby prevent them from being blown within the workshop, which serves to keep the workers healthy and make the workshop environment agreeable.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided an apparatus for cutting lumber, comprising a work table 10 formed with a slit hole on one side of the upper part thereof, a plurality of legs 20 provided on each corner of the bottom of the work table, a cutting part 30 having a motor whose rotational shaft is coupled to a circular saw, the motor being fixedly supported by the support plate on the bottom of the work table, and the circular saw being projected over through the slit hole of the fixed plate, a casing 40 whose inside is hollow, being fixedly coupled to the bottom of the work table, thereby covering the cutting part, a discharging part 50 having a blowing fan and a hose, the blowing fan communicating with the casing and the hose communicating with the blowing fan, and a sawdust collection container 56 fixedly connected to the hose of the discharging part, communicating with each other. Preferably, the casing comprises a upper frame formed with engaging holes on each corner thereof, bending pieces created by making the central part thereof hollow, and engaging holes on the bending pieces, a lower frame separate from the lower part of the upper frame, being formed with guide rails on which an open/close plate is seated on the bottom thereof, and sills on the top thereof, having engaging holes, a connection frame connecting the upper and lower frames, wherein a discharging hole coupled to the blowing fan of the discharging part is formed on one side and a passing hole through which external air is flown is formed on the other side, and lateral plates are fixedly coupled to the upper and lower frames.

Best Modes for Carrying out the Invention Hereinafter, best modes for carrying out an apparatus for cutting lumber according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating an assembled state of an apparatus for cutting lumber according to the present invention, FIG. 2 is a perspective view illustrating a disassembled state of the lumber-cutting apparatus according to the present invention, and FIG. 3 is a sectional view illustrating an assembled state of the lumber-cutting apparatus according to the present invention.
Referring to these figures, a lumber-cutting apparatus according to the present invention comprises a work table having a coupling hole 12 in each bottom corner thereof and a slit hole 16 on the top face thereof.
A plurality of legs 20 are detachably coupled to the coupling holes 12 in the four bottom corners of the work table 10 by allowing coupling projections formed on the legs 20 to be inserted into the coupling holes 12.
A cutting part 30 is provided, to which a circular saw 34 and a motor M are coupled, and the circular saw 34 being coupled to a rotational shaft of the motor (M) rotated as power is supplied is provided, the motor M being fixedly coupled to the bottom face of the work table 10 by a support plate 32.
At this time, the circular saw 34 of the cutting part 30 is inserted into the slit hole 15 to project over the top of the work table 10, thereby being fixedly coupled to the work table 10.
A casing 40 is provided, inside of which the cutting part 30 is formed with a space for collecting saw dust and dust from the lumber cut by the circular saw 34, the casing covering the cutting part 30. The casing 40 is fixedly coupled to the bottom part of the work table 10 by a coupling means (not shown). The casing communicates with a hose 62 of a discharging part 60, and dust is inhaled into a blowing fan 61 and then discharged through the hose 62.
The dust discharged through the hose 62 is collected into a sawdust collection container 70 for collecting sawdust and dust, connected to the hose 62, both of which communicate with each other. The sawdust collection container 70 may be directly connected to the discharging part 60 without the hose 62.
FIGs. 4 and 5 both illustrate a casing for the lumber-cutting apparatus according to the present invention, wherein the casing is formed with a upper frame 41 having coupling holes in each corner part and bending pieces 42 formed by penetrating the center of the upper frame 41.
Guide rails 45 are formed separately from the bottom of the upper frame 41, both of which are opposite to each other.
A lower frame 44 to which the guide rails 45 are coupled is formed with an open/close plate 51 to open and close the lower part of the casing 40 and extruding pieces 46 having coupling holes 47 on the upper part thereof.
Connection frames 48 are provided, for connecting each corner of the bending pieces 42 of the upper frame 41 with the corresponding corner of the extruding pieces 46 of the lower frame 44.
Lateral plates 49 are also provided, both of which have passing holes 50a and 50b, and which are coupled to insides of the upper and lower frames 41 and 44, and the connection frames 48 by coupling means. To a passing hole 60a is coupled the discharging part 60.
The discharging part 60 comprises a blowing fan 61 communicating with the casing 40 and a hose 62 communicating with the blowing fan 61. As described above, the lumber-cutting apparatus is manufactured so as to be disassembled.
Where there is no need to use the cutting apparatus any longer, the parts thereof are disassembled for transportation and maintenance.
In order to use the apparatus being maintained or moved, the disassembled parts are again assembled, and the assembled apparatus then cuts a variety of lumbers with length and size as desired.
Also, since the parts of the casing 40 formed on the bottom of the work table 10 are disassembled, the casing 40 can also be disassembled for maintenance and movement if necessary, when the cutting apparatus is disassembled and carried. As the cutting apparatus is manufactured so as to be disassembled, it is easy to carry or maintain the apparatus, thereby reducing the installation time thereof.
Sawdust and dust generated when cutting such lumber as plywood by use of the lumber-cutting apparatus manufactured so are laid inside the casing 40 coupled to the bottom of the work table 10 through the slit hole 16 of the work table 10. The dust laid inside the casing 40 is flown through the hose 62 as the blowing fan 61 is operated, and is then collected in the sawdust collection container 70.
The passing hole 50 formed on the other lateral plate of the casing 40, opposite to the lateral plate formed with the discharging part 60, allows external air to be supplied therethrough, when discharging the dust collected inside the casing 40 to the outside by operation of the blowing fan 61 of the discharging part 60, to thereby smoothly discharge the dust to the discharging part.
The heat generated due to long use of the motor M is cooled by external air flown into the casing 40 through the passing hole 50b.
Meanwhile, if the predetermined amount of sawdust is piled up inside the casing 40, the open/close plate 51 on the bottom of the casing 40 is opened so as to discharge the sawdust piled up to the outside and dispose it.
Since a container or box for collecting the sawdust discharged is provided, the sawdust discharged to the lower part of the casing 40 is collected in the container or box for disposal, thereby preventing the workshop and its circumstance from being polluted or unclean.
As described above, pollution of the work table 10 and its circumstance due to dust and sawdust generated when cutting the lumber is prevented, thereby keeping the workshop environment clean and agreeable.
The lumber-cutting apparatus according to the present invention is preferably provided with a motor M in a relatively narrow space to the slit hole 16, on the bottom of the work table 10.
And, it is also preferable to provide a discharging part 60 discharging dust and a sawdust collection container 70 collecting dust as discharged in a relatively broad space based on the slit hole 16, on the bottom of the work table 10. By positioning the cutting part 30 for cutting the lumber, the discharging part
60 for discharging dust, and the sawdust collection container 70 for collecting the discharge dust under the bottom of the work table 10, they are not exposed externally and the workers are not hindered in their work.
FIG. 6 is a sectional view illustrating an assembled state of an open/close plate to the casing according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the open/close plate 51 is provided on the bottom of the casing 40 so as to discharge sawdust piled up inside the casing 40.
The open/close plate 51 has a hinge 52 fixed on one side of the bottom of the casing 40, a engaging boss 53 on the other side, and a engaging projection 54 opposite to the engaging boss 53, which is inserted into the casing 40.
If the sawdust generated when cutting the lumber on the work table 10 is piled up within the casing 40, the engaging boss 3 of the open/close plate 51 engaged into the engaging projection 54 of the casing 40 is released from the engaging projection
54. The open/close plate 51 released from the engaging projection 54 is rotated based on the hinge 52, to thereby open the bottom of the casing 40.
Then, the sawdust piled up inside the casing 40 is collected into the container or box, and then disposed.
After disposing the sawdust piled up in the casing 40, the open/close plate 51 is engaged into the engaging projection 54 of the casing 40, and the workers then resume their works.
FIG. 7 is a sectional view illustrating an assembled state of an open/close plate to the casing according to another exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein engaging bosses 53a and 53b are provided on both sides of the open/close plate 51 positioned on the bottom of the casing 40 and opened to discharge the sawdust collected.
Engaging projections 54a and 54b are provided on both sides of the lower part of the casing 40 and on the same positions as the engaging bosses 53a and 53b of the open/close plate 51, and the engaging bosses 53a and 53b are engaged into the engaging projections 54a and 54b of the casing 40.
If the sawdust generated when cutting the lumber on the work table 10 is piled up inside the casing 40, the engaging bosses 53a and 53b of the open/close plate 51 engaged into the engaging projections 54a and 54b of the casing are first released, to thereby allow the bottom of the casing 40 to be opened. If the bottom of the casing 40 is opened, the sawdust piled up inside the casing
40 is collected into the container or box, and then disposed.
After discharging the sawdust piled up in the casing 40, the open/close plate 51 is engaged into the casing 40, and the workers then resume their works.
FIG. 8 is a sectional view illustrating an assembled state of filters to passing holes of the casing through which air is flown, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein a seating hole 81 is formed outside the lateral plate 49 of the casing 40 having a passing hole 50b which is formed on the other side of the casing 40 to which the discharging part 60 is coupled, and a fixed plate 80 whose front and top faces are opened is provided. A filter 82 is fixedly coupled to the seating hole 81 of the fixed plate 80. This construction prevents dust collected within the casing 40 from being discharged outside the casing 40 through the passing hole 50 through which external air is supplied, when the blowing fan 61 of the discharging part 60 is in no operation.
FIGs. 9 and 10 illustrate an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein a guide 90 formed with bending parts 92 on both sides thereof and guide projections 94 on both ends of the bending parts 92 is vertically coupled to the work table 10 in a slidable manner. At this time, fixed levers 96 are provided on both upper ends of the guide 90, which function to fix the guide 90 at a certain position when it is slid. The guide 90 is moved adaptively to the length of lumber to be cut. The moved guide 90 is fixed by the fixed lever 96, thereby being capable of adjusting a position of the guide 90.
Under the condition that a position of the guide 90 is adjusted and then fixed, a lumber is placed on the work table 10 and cut by use of the circular saw 34 projected over the top of the work table 10. Since one side of the lumber is closely supported by the guide 90, the worker can cut the lumber with the dimension and angle as desired, and he can also perform his job in a safe manner.
FIG. 11 is a top plan view illustrating scales indicated on the top face of the work table according to the present invention, wherein the scales 98 are indicated horizontally on one side of the top face of the work table 10, starting from the circular saw 34 projected and being directed toward the guide 90.
In the conventional art, the length equivalent to the desired dimension of the lumber to be cut is measured by use of a measuring tape, indicated directly on the lumber by use of a pencil or similar writing tools so distinct as to be recognized and then drawn as a line, and the lumber is cut along the line.
However, according to the present invention, since the scales 98 are indicated on the top face of the work table 10, the guide 90 is adjusted adaptively to the length equivalent to the desired dimension of the lumber to be cut and then fixed so as to cut the lumber. There is no need to perform an unnecessary job (work) when cutting the lumber, namely a job to indicate the desired length on the lumber, making the work simple and also reducing the work time.
FIGs. 12 and 13 illustrate a hinged leg according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein a seating plate 110 is provided on each corner of the upper bottom of the work table 10 and formed with a shaft hole 112 to which a rotational shaft 132 is coupled.
Outside the seating plate 10 is projected a cylindrical projection 114 whose inside is hollow, a coupling pin 120 formed with a head 122 on one side, an engaging part 124 on the other side, and a groove 126 engaged into a stopping piece 128 between the head 122 and the engaging part 124 is rotatably inserted into the cylindrical projection 114, and an elastic member 130 is positioned inside the cylindrical projection 114.
On the same position as the shaft hole 112 of the seating plate 110 is formed a passing hole through which the seating plate 110 is rotatably coupled by the rotational shaft 132, and an engaging groove 104 is formed on the same position as the coupling pin 120, to thereby allow the coupling pin 120 to be engaged into the engaging groove 104.
As described above, since the elastic member 130 all the time pushes the stopping piece 128 within the cylindrical projection 114 toward the leg 100, the engaging part 124 of the coupling pin 120 is always engaged into the engaging hole 104 formed on one upper part of the leg 100.
Under the condition that the engaging part 124 is engaged into the engaging groove 104, the leg 100 is fixed as being extended. To the contrary, if the head 122 of the coupling pin 120 is pulled, the stopping piece 128 is retreated, pushing the elastic member 130, whereby the engaging part 124 is released from the engaging groove 104. Then, the leg 100 can freely move, thereby allowing it to be folded.
When the leg 100 is extended, the engaging part 124 is fixedly engaged into the engaging groove 104, but when the leg 100 is folded, the engaging part 124 is positioned outside the leg 100, thereby prevent the leg 100 from being moved when the leg 100 is folded or extended. Industrial Applicability
As described above, the lumber-cutting apparatus according to the present invention is designed to cut plywood used in interior works for a house or a building, and is manufactured with the parts thereof which can be disassembled, thereby making it easy to carry and maintain it.
The lumber-cutting apparatus can be used again by assembling the parts after moving to a work field in another location.
The conventional lumber-cutting apparatus has been manufactured in the field for every work and destroyed after using it. However, the present invention can prevent extraordinary use of materials and reduce extra time consumed in making the apparatus separately.
In addition, the present lumber-cutting apparatus is provided with the sawdust collection container into which sawdust and dust generated in cutting the lumber is collected and disposed. Since the sawdust is separately collected and then disposed, sawdust and dust are not blown in the workshop.
Accordingly, the present invention is useful in providing users with agreeable work environment all the time and protecting their health from dust.
Although the present invention has been described in connection with the preferred embodiments illustrated in the accompanying drawings, it should be understood that the present invention is not limited thereto and those skilled in the art can make various modifications and changes without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims

Claims
1. An apparatus for cutting lumber, comprising: a work table 10 formed with a slit hole on one side of the upper part thereof; a plurality of legs 20 provided on each corner of the bottom of the work table; a cutting part 30 having a motor whose rotational shaft is coupled to a circular saw, the motor being fixedly supported by the support plate on the bottom of the work table, and the circular saw being projected over through the slit hole of the fixed plate; a casing 40 whose inside is hollow, being fixedly coupled to the bottom of the work table, thereby covering the cutting part; a discharging part 50 having a blowing fan and a hose, the blowing fan communicating with the casing and the hose communicating with the blowing fan; and a sawdust collection container 56 fixedly connected to the hose of the discharging part, communicating with each other.
2. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein legs coupled to the work table can be disassembled.
3. The apparatus as claimed in claim 2, wherein the legs are formed with engaging holes on the bottom of each corner of the work table and engaging projections engaged into the engaging holes.
4. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the casing comprises: a upper frame formed with engaging holes on each corner thereof, bending pieces created by making the central part thereof hollow, and engaging holes on the bending pieces; a lower frame separate from the bottom part of the upper frame, being formed with guide rails on which a open/close plate is seated on the bottom thereof, and sills on the top thereof, having engaging holes; a connection frame comiecting the upper and lower frames, wherein a discharging hole coupled to the blowing fan of the discharging part is formed on one side and a passing hole through which external air is flown is formed on the other side, and lateral plates are fixedly coupled to the upper and lower frames.
5. The apparatus as claimed in claim 4, further comprising an open/close plate seated on the guide rails formed on internal bottom of the casing.
6. The apparatus as claimed in claim 4, wherein a hinge is provided on one side of the open/close plate, being fixed to the upper frame of the casing, and an engaging boss is formed on the other side thereof, being engaged into the engaging proj ection of the casing.
7. The apparatus as claimed in claim 4, wherein engaging bosses are formed on both sides of the open/close plate, and engaging projections are formed on the lower frame of the casing, opposite to the engaging bosses of the open/close plate.
8. The apparatus as claimed in claim 4, wherein a fixed plate is provided, having a seating groove on outside of the passing hole of the casing and a filter is coupled to the seating groove.
9. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the sawdust collection container is directly coupled to the discharging part.
10. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a guide having bending parts on both sides thereof, wherein the bending parts are provided with a fixed lever, being installed on the top of the work table.
11. The apparatus as claimed in claims 1 and 10, further comprising a guide projection, wherein a guide groove is formed horizontally on both sides of the work table and the bending parts of the guide are seated on the guide groove.
12. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, further comprising scales horizontally on one side of the top of the work table.
13. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the legs coupled to the work table are hinged.
14. The apparatus as claimed in claim 13, comprising: a seating plate formed with shaft holes provided on each corner of the bottom of the work table and coupled to a rotational shaft and a cylindrical projection projected outside the seating plate, the cylindrical projection having a hollow central part; a coupling pin formed with a head on one side thereof, an engaging part on the other side thereof, and a groove between the head and the engaging part, into which a stopping piece is engaged, the coupling pin being coupled to the cylindrical projection; an elastic member seated between the stopping piece of the coupling pin and the head, coupled to the inside of the cylindrical projection; and legs coupled to the rotational shaft by forming passing holes on the same position as the shaft holes of the seating holes and to the engaging part of the coupling pin.
