"Projection system."
DESCRIPTION The present invention relates to a projection system comprising a plurality of screens on which a correspondent plurality of proj ectors proj ect images.
Object of the present invention is to create a particularly environment suitable for recreational and sports activity.
According to the present invention, such an object is achieved by a projection system comprising a plurality of screens associated to a correspondent plurality of projectors projecting images on said plurality of screens, characterized by comprising management means for said plurality of projectors; a control panel for said management means; said plurality of screens are placed so as to have a focal center; in said focal center or in its immediate proximity at least one means able to be used to perform a recreational or sport activity is placed.
Thanks to the present invention it is possible to realize a projection system combined with at least a means able to be used for performing a recreational or sports activity. It has an attracting function of extraordinary impact thanks to the association of hydro-massage bathtub, for its nature finalized to the body comfort, with a new visual and a very involving experience that amplifies its beneficial and relaxing effects, or, in association with gymnastic equipments, to stimulate the consumer to the physical activity, making it less exhausting and at the same time much pleasant and productive.
The features and the advantages of the present invention will be made more evident by the following detailed description of a particular embodiment, illustrated as a non-limiting example in the annexed drawings, wherein: Figure 1 represents in a schematic way a perspective of the projection
system according to the present invention;
Figure 2 represents in a schematic way a top sight of the projection system according to the present invention.
In Figure 1 and in Figure 2 the projection system according to the present invention is formed by an internal room 10 and by an external room
11.
The internal room 10 is accessible through a door 12. The separation between the internal room 10 and the external room 11 is formed by a wall constituted by a plurality of projection screens 13, and for example in figure 7 of them are in the Figures. The number of the projection screens 13 can be any. They are placed so as to create a focal center where a spectator, inside the internal room 10, can observe all the present screens at the same distance. Then the screens 13 are placed so as to form a circle arc from few degrees (for instance using 2 or 3 screens) up to 360°. Preferably at 180°, 315° (with 7 screens and an entrance), and 330° (with 11 screens and an entrance) In the case of 360° the entry door 12 of the internal room 10 can be realized by using a screen or one portion of it.
With such disposition of the screens 13, the spectator is therefore at the scene center, giving him in this way the sensation of feeling absorbed in what he sees.
The images on the screens 13 are preferably projected from the back by a plurality of projectors 14, respectively corresponding to the plurality of screens 13, placed in the external room 11. A projector for every screen.
The projectors 14 are connected by an appropriate connection 15 to a management system 16 of the projection system. To the management system
16 a control panel 17 for the control of the projection system is also connected.
The external room 11 is a room preferably isolated from the internal room 10 and it can be any room of a building. In Figures 1 and 2 it is for example represented with a polygonal shape that corresponds to the polygon
of the internal room 10, but it can be of any shape.
Preferably at the center of the internal room 10 and therefore preferably in the focal center and/or in its immediate proximities means 18 able to be used for performing a recreational or sports activity are placed. Such means 18 can be a lot. For example they can be constituted by a bathtub preferably with hydro-massage, or by one or more gymnastic equipments (eyelet, tapis roulant, etc.), or also by chairs or armchairs, preferably suitable for a 360°cinema vision.
Inside the internal room 10 there is the control panel 17, preferably of disappearance type. Such a control panel 17 preferably makes use of a
"Touch Screen" monitor, that allows selecting some items that appear on the monitor simply by grazing the monitor surface.
By means of the control panel 17 it is possible to manage the whole operation of the projection system. In fact it is possible to control NCRs, DND or CD players, video-projectors, satellite receivers, switchers or audio/video matrixes, computers, video-cameras and lights. Besides it is possible to control the humidity rate, the climate and the ventilation of the rooms.
In fact, in order to avoid damages to the projection system, a conditioning system able to regulate the temperature and the humidity both in the internal room 10 (mainly for the comfort of the people inside the internal room 10) both in the external room 11 (mainly for the projection equipments) is installed.
The control panel 17 manages by means of a connection interface the management system 16, essentially constituted by a computer and cards for multiple video projections.
From 1 to 4 video cards that manage from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 16 video channels can be housed therein.
The base system has to contain some SCSI-RAID unites (with the relative SCSI disks), that is systems able to manage data flows of huge size,
that is the images that will be projected. Besides the noise of such PC will not be higher than 68 dBs.
By means of a program loaded in the management system 16 the video outputs are synchronised. Every video output is connected to a projector. The projection screens 13 can be either a tempered glass plate or a
Plexiglas(polycabornate) plate. The use of these materials allows a total isolation of the room in which the projectors 14 and the management system 16 are placed, compared to that in which there are the means 18; two separate environments with different and appropriate climatic conditions are so created. As projection screens 13 can be used also back-projection screens, when the thermal isolation between the internal room 10 and the external room 11 is not required, or in different climatic conditions.
The images that are projected on these projection screens 13 can be controlled by the control panel 16. They can be cyclically projected or changed with others according to the tastes of the final user. In alternative, by connecting the management system 16 to a satellite connection system it is possible to send the images to be projected from a remote location.
In order to create images suitable to this type of projection system, particular equipments and a specific technology that allows to link all the images taken in only one vision at 180° and at 360° are needed. In order to do this a contemporary multiple take is needed with 5 or 9 television cameras from only one central point, in which each camera covers an angle of 40°. The single takes has to be united in only one image and this operation is made possible by the use of suitable software programs for the video mixer.
The projection system also includes an audio system, managed by the management system 16 with a varying number of sound sources, from a minimum of 4, appropriately placed inside the internal room 10.
In an alternative embodiment the external room 11 may not exist, and the projectors 14 can be placed inside the internal room 10, for instance on the ceiling. In this case the projection on the screens 13 is frontal.
The transmitted images can be both in movement (filmed) and fixed (for instance a panorama).
