Abstract

The invention relates to energy saving lamps, whose gas discharge tube (30) is fixed to a lamp cap (10), e.g. of size E 27, by means of a tube fixing element (50). For this purpose, the tube fixing element (50) consists of an upper section (51) and a lower section (52). The lower section (52) comprises guides for a printed circuit board (41), alignment pins and alignment bores, which correspond with the appropriate elements on the upper section (51) and orifices that conduct the connecting wires. The tube fixing element (50) is housed in the lamp cap (10). A pear-shaped glass jacket (21), which resembles the glass jacket of a conventional electric light bulb, can surround and protect the gas discharge tube (30) and the tube fixing element (50).
