Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé de production de méthanol consistant à acheminer séparément un gaz successivement comprimé et réchauffé contenant des hydrocarbures et un gaz comprimé contenant de l'oxygène vers des zones de mélange (71-78) de réacteurs (51-58) disposés à la suite; à soumettre le gaz contenant des hydrocarbures à une oxydation en phase gazeuse dans les zones de réaction (91-98) des réacteurs (51-58) disposées à la suite, à une température initiale allant jusqu'à 500 °C, à une pression allant jusqu'à 10 MPa et à une teneur en oxygène inférieure à 8 % en volume dans les zones de réaction (91-98) ; à refroidir le mélange de réaction à travers la paroi de la zone de réaction précédente (91-97), avant de l'acheminer vers les zones de réaction suivantes (92-98), au moyen d'un condensat aqueux et par la production de vapeur; puis à refroidir ce mélange de réaction après la dernière zone de réaction (98) du dernier réacteur (58), avant la séparation, dans un échangeur thermique de récupération (14) et dans un condenseur réfrigérant à air (17). Le procédé selon l'invention consiste enfin à réaliser la séparation du mélange liquide-gaz de réaction refroidi en gaz d'échappement et en produits liquides; à rectifier ces produits liquides par extraction de méthanol pendant l'acheminement de la vapeur obtenue par le refroidissement des produits de réaction; et à acheminer les gaz d'échappement vers le gaz de départ contenant des hydrocarbures ou vers la combustion.
