Abstract

L'invention concerne la direction d'un véhicule, comportant un amortisseur de vibrations pour les vibrations torsionnelles induites dans le volant par l'intermédiaire de la barre de direction. Le volant est doté d'au moins un élément métallique (3) situé le plus loin possible du centre du volant, cet élément ayant un poids spécifique sensiblement supérieur à celui du matériau constituant le volant. Cet élément métallique (3) est de préférence annulaire et encastré de manière élastique dans la couronne du volant (1), de sorte qu'il (3) peut au moins légèrement tourner autour du centre du volant sur le plan du volant, par rapport à la couronne du volant (1). Accroché à la couronne du volant par un élément élastomère (4), cet élément métallique, vu en section transversale, est relié à ladite couronne entièrement ou seulement partiellement au moyen d'une attache élastique. La couronne du volant (1) comporte de préférence un évidement (2) destiné à recevoir l'élément métallique, cet évidement étant pourvu d'un recouvrement (5), auquel est suspendu l'élément métallique de manière élastique.
