  • the winning and losing wagers can be determined according to the placement of betting chips on the table and the indicia shown on the table cards. Basically, if a particular card type is dealt as one of the four table cards, wagering chips placed in the corresponding wagering location 24 will win. For example, if each of the dealt cards are of different type, bets on the four card indicia types dealt all win, and bets on the other four card types lose. If a particular card type occurs more than once in the hand, fewer than four of the wagering locations 24 will represent winning bets, but additional pay-out odds may be returned to the winning players with wagers on the multiply dealt card type.

In this case, there is no fourth card to pay on and no possible four of a kind, which allows the house to obtain a suitable edge in pay-out probabilities.
  • the game card deck includes a VIVA card which is dealt during a hand, all wagers in that particular hand are lost by the players.
  • the house edge would be adjustable according to the ratio of ordinary cards to VIVA cards, which in this example would be approximately one in every seven hands.
  • any cards in a hand are dealt prior to the VIVA card being dealt, then the winning wagers are paid but no further cards are dealt. Effectively, if the VIVA card is the second card, then bets corresponding to the type of the first card dealt only are paid; if VIVA is the third card, then bets in relation to the first two ordinary cards are paid, and so on.
  • VIVA card it is also possible to provide players with an additional wagering option, by allowing them to wager on the VIVA card. So as to provide the game with a house edge that is acceptable to both players and house alike, it is necessary to provide a relatively low probability of the VIVA card being dealt. However, this need for the low probability of a VIVA card being dealt makes the wagering option on the VIVA card ideal for a VIVA Jackpot or Bonus Wager. Since the VIVA card is also a house card, the VJVA Jackpot or Bonus Wager option can also constitute a type of insurance for players wagering on the indicia in the ordinary card wagering locations 24.

This is not the case with this invention, unlike other types of Jackpot card games, players of the progressive jackpot wagering option of this invention, are able to make a jackpot wager without having to make a wager in any other part of the game, such as the numbers wager.
  • the main Jackpot can only be won by one player, unlike these games, embodiments of this invention provide for the main jackpot to be equally divided among all players who made the progressive jackpot wager; while the winning bonus hands from the suited 4 of a kind on down could be paid individually to each player that has made the progressive jackpot wager and could be paid directly from the dealer's chip rack 42.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un jeu de cartes ayant lieu dans des casinos et pour lequel les clients du casino peuvent miser. Le jeu nécessite une table de jeu sur laquelle sont marqués un certain nombre de positions par des signes et consiste à jouer aux cartes avec les mêmes signes. Pour ce faire, on distribue un certain nombre de cartes provenant de paquets de cartes spécifiques qui décident du résultat et offrent des gains pour le joueur présentant les signes des cartes. Les joueurs peuvent soit miser sur les signes alignés sur leur position de jeu, soit miser sur une des options de mise disponibles sous forme de zones de mise communes. Il n'y a pas de mains de joueur en tant que telle mais plutôt une seule main de table. Les résultats de victoire sont déterminés par les signes des cartes qui sont jouées sur la table. Les joueurs de ce jeu ont la possibilité de recevoir de multiples chances de gagner pour une seule mise et de profiter en même temps de certains bonus. Les joueurs peuvent également participer à un gros lot progressif indépendant du jeu principal. La distribution des cartes s'effectue par un croupier, un croupier électronique ou un jeu informatique sans croupier.
