Abstract

A system for performing through port off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery includes a port (10) insertable between ribs into a chest wall of a patient, a heart stabilizer (400) extendable through and stably couplable to the port (10), and an instrument stabilizer (1100) adapted to dampen extraneous movement to which a surgical instrument extending through the stabilizer (1100) is subject.
