Abstract

The invention relates to an optically variable surface model comprising light-diffracting structures and consisting of a background (8) and image information (9) situated on the background (8). In normal lighting conditions, the light which falls upon the background (8) and the image information (9) is diffracted in different directions, in such a way that an observer can read said image information. The diffraction structures forming the background (8) and the image information (9) are embodied in such a way that, during photocopying using a colour photocopier, they bring the photodiodes of the colour photocopier into saturation, in such a way that a contrastless light surface is created on the photocopy instead of the background (8) with the image information (9). Especially matt structures are used as diffraction structures.
