Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de générer une pluralité de microgelules contenant un médicament qui utilise un ou plusieurs atomiseurs de façon à former ces microgelules par le phénomène d'échange de solvant. Une pluralité de microgouttelettes d'une solution aqueuse sont mises en contact avec une pluralité de microgouttelettes contenant un polymère dissout dans un solvant hydrophile dans des conditions dans lesquelles cette solution polymère enveloppe la microgouttelette aqueuse. L'échange de molécules de solvant entre le noyau aqueux et sa coque contenant le polymère dépose le polymère sous la forme d'une membrane autour du noyau aqueux. Un atomiseur préféré est un atomiseur coaxial ultrasonique. On peut générer des microgelules dans l'air de même qu'immergées dans un bain de recueil. On peut obtenir des propriétés recherchées de ces microgelules, par exemple une libération commandée, en apportant des excipients de protection à l'intérieur du noyau aqueux, fournissant un polymère hydrophile capable d'entreprendre une transition sol-gel à l'intérieur de ce noyau aqueux, optimisant la sélection du solvant de polymère, réglant les débits de flux relatifs et offrant d'autres avantages similaires.
