Verfahrenmethod
Beschreibungdescription
The invention relates to envelopes made from a blank of paper or paper substitute and to a method which is suitable for producing such envelopes.
Envelopes have been known for a long time. They are manufactured in a complex process using complicated machines made of paper or paper substitutes. In the course of this production, it is necessary to fold blanks made from the starting material against one another and to connect them to one another in this position. For this purpose, adhesives are used, which are fed through pipelines. The adhesive application units tend to clog and misposition the adhesive application. The same happens when gluing banners from window foils. At the end of this process, the adhesive application is dried. Incomplete, too thin or too thick adhesive applications lead to malfunctions. Such errors then lead to production exclusions. In addition, the various adhesive applications lead to contamination of the machine, require intensive maintenance cycles and are therefore the cause of frequent production stoppages.
The object of the invention is to produce envelopes which do entirely or at least substantially without adhesive application and thus rule out a major cause of operational malfunctions and production errors.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the blank is made of paper or a paper substitute, the inside being partially or completely coated with thermoplastic material and the side flaps and the bottom flap being fixed to the coating material. Such an envelope can be formed without using glue. The coating material serves as an "adhesive replacement" where it is specifically required to fix the individual flaps of the blank. Such a coating also has advantages in terms of the strength of the envelope, the formation of colored and / or pictorial designs. The coating can easily be formed from appropriately prepared laminate. Such an envelope can make the contents completely invisible or moisture-proof.
The envelope according to the invention can also easily consist of two blanks which are coated over the entire area or partially with thermoplastic material, in which case means for sealing are provided in the area of the sealing edge and the two blanks are fixed along their bottom edge and along the side edges by means of coating material , In this embodiment, there is no need to fold the blank, but two blanks are glued to one another, essentially lying one above the other, at the edges. This leads to a particularly simple production, the rest of the advantages that have already been discussed apply here as well. According to the invention, it is also possible to dispense with a closure flap when using two blanks if, as is the case with mass printed matter, the filling opening is closed after the letterhead has been introduced by heating the coating material in this area and thus assuming the adhesive function. Polyethylene is particularly suitable for this coating material.
According to a further proposal of the invention, an envelope according to the invention can be designed such that the blank (s) is / are also coated on its outside with plastic.
Furthermore, the envelope according to the invention can be designed such that the coating is colored or black on at least one side of the paper / paper substitute.
Furthermore, the envelope according to the invention can be designed such that the thickness of the coating is in each case a maximum of 8 μm. In particular, the choice of thickness can influence the strength and shape retention of the envelope. The thickness of the coating will usually be a maximum of 5 μm. According to the invention, it can further be provided that the closure flap has two regions folded over one another, at least one of which is provided with self-adhesive adhesive. This solution is appropriate if an envelope is formed from a blank and is therefore conventional in terms of its shape, that is to say has a closure flap.
Die Beschichtung besteht vorzugsweise aus verrottbarem Material. The coating is preferably made of rotting material.
According to the invention, the blanks can form a series of initially connected envelopes, which can be kept ready in the form of a roll or folded.
According to the invention, it is further provided that the thermoplastic coating material is locally heated in order to fix the cut parts to one another, that is to say that the connecting medium only arises at the desired connection location, that is, it does not have to be supplied separately by lines or the like. The heating is preferably carried out by laser beams. However, heating by means of heated rollers or sliding shoes can also be considered.
Furthermore, it is provided according to the invention that a transparent window area is formed in a blank by means of microperforation of the coated paper / paper substitute. In this way, the window function can be performed without having to make a cutout and without gluing the window cutout. The use of the coated paper / paper substitute also provides sufficient strength in the window area in the case of such a microperforation. In addition, a view z. B. can be reached on the address field of the inserted mail.
According to the invention, it is also provided that in the transparent window area with a hole diameter between 0.7 mm and 1.3 mm, the hole area accounts for 60% to 80% of the total area. Furthermore, the method according to the invention can also be carried out such that when two blanks are used, the closing edge is closed after filling by heating the coating material and pressing it on.
The method according to the invention can be carried out in such a way that first a lower cover sheet is placed at the exit of a printer, that the documents created in this printer are then positioned over the lower cover sheet, that an upper cover sheet is then positioned over the document records and that finally the lower one The cover sheet and the upper cover sheet are connected to one another via the contour of the writing material in that the coating material provided on one or both sides of the lower and / or the upper cover sheet is heated and both cover sheets are pressed together. In this way, documents can be created after a printer and stored in such a way that it is properly positioned between two cover sheets. The cover sheets can also be labeled, in particular also provided with address fields and the like. The documents can be folded.
Es zeigt:In the following part of the description, some embodiments of the invention will now be described with reference to drawings. It shows:

Fig. 4: an embodiment of the method according to the invention for use in connection with a printer. 1 shows an envelope 1 according to the invention which has not yet been closed. The inside of the envelope 1 is provided with a thin plastic coating 8. The areas 2 and 3 are thermally glued to the back of the envelope by pressing after folding. An envelope with outside side flaps has been created. Areas 4 and 5 are used for inside side flaps. A window film 6 is thermally bonded to the envelope 1 over the area 7. In this case, the closure flap 9 is divided into two areas 10 and 11. A self-adhesive adhesive 13 is applied in area 11. The area 11 is folded over the area 10 after the adhesive application. The plastic coating 8 protects the adhesive application from drying out due to the smooth, non-porous and diffusion-inhibiting surface and ensures easy, safe opening of the flap before closing the envelope.
In Fig. 2, two continuous blanks 20 and 40 are shown. Only on the endless blank 40 is a thin plastic layer 55 applied on the inside. At positions 21-27, the letter blanks 20 and 40 are thermally bonded to one another by pressing. In this case, an envelope is shown without a window. An envelope 51 has three thermal adhesive areas 41, 42 and 43. The envelopes 51, 52 and the following are connected to one another on their long sides 44, 45.
Diese Mikroperforation kann folgende Parameter haben:Another embodiment of the method according to the invention is to be described with reference to FIG. Here two continuous blanks of rolls 62, 69 are first fed to a pair of rolls 63. The roll 69 is initially followed by a further roll 68, in which a microperforation 67 is generated in the blank by means of the laser beams 70. This microperforation can have the following parameters:
Lochdurchmesser 1 mmHole diameter 1 mm
Lochfläche 0,79 mm2 Hole area 0.79 mm 2
Stegbreite 0,1 mmBridge width 0.1 mm
Stegfläche 0,42 mm2 Web area 0.42 mm 2
Anzahl der Löcher: 3535Number of holes: 3535
Fläche der Löcher: 2776,38 mm2 Nach einem zweiten Beispiel:Area of the holes: 2776.38 mm 2 According to a second example:
Lochdurchmesser 1 mm Lochfläche 0,79 mmHole diameter 1 mm hole area 0.79 mm
Stegbreite 0,001 mmBridge width 0.001 mm
Stegfläche 0,22 mmWeb area 0.22 mm
Anzahl Löcher 4269Number of holes 4,269
Of the endless blanks that are fed from the rollers 62, 69 to the pair of rollers 63, at least the endless blank is coated with thermoplastic material, which is provided with a micro-perforation. Laser beams 61 from the laser 60 heat the thermoplastic coating material, so that a pattern embossed on the rollers 63 forms on the continuous double-layer paper strip. This strip is now followed by welds in the side area, in the floor area, in the side area, in the floor area, etc. The paper strip is not yet welded in this area ι at its upper edge, that is to say open, so that mail can be introduced from above (64) ,
The paper strip then runs between the pair of rollers 65. The filling area, which is initially still open, is closed here. This is followed by a separation of the paper strip along the glued webs running transversely to the transport direction. Individual envelopes are then available, which, as indicated in 66, can be stacked.
Dieses Verfahren ermöglicht es also, die Herstellung von Briefumschlägen mit dem Be- füllen unmittelbar zu verbinden. This process therefore makes it possible to directly connect the production of envelopes with the filling.
Beide Deckblätter sind auf den einander zugewandten Flächen mit einem Beschichtungsmaterial, vorzugsweise aus Polyäthylen versehen.FIG. 4 shows an embodiment of the invention in which envelopes are produced directly after a printer and filled with documents 82. In this method, a lower cover sheet 83, which can be provided with printing, is first placed in the output area of the printer. On this cover page then applied the documents that can be created in the same printer. The documents can be folded or unfolded. Finally, an upper cover sheet 81 is applied. Both cover sheets are provided on the mutually facing surfaces with a coating material, preferably made of polyethylene.
After the cover sheets and the documents are positioned one above the other in the manner described, heat and pressure are applied to the protruding edges 80, 84 so that the coating material develops its adhesive effect and the two cover sheets are glued to their edges.
