Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Messumformer mit einem Sensor zur Umwandlung einer damit erfassten Messgrösse in ein elektrisches Sensorsignal, mit einer Signalverarbeitungseinrichtung, die zur Aufbereitung des Sensorsignals zu einem Messsignal und zur Erzeugung eines Fehlermeldesignals ausgebildet ist, und mit einer Datenschnittstelle zur Übertragung des Messsignals und Fehlermeldesignals. Um auf einfache Weise auch außerhalb des Messumformers (1) auftretende Fehlerereignisse melden zu können, weist der Messumformer (1) einen von der Datenschnittstelle (8) verschiedenen Steuereingang (15) auf, über den die Erzeugung des Fehlermeldesignals (11) auslösbar ist
