Abstract

A video display system device has a video output unit (1) that reproduces a video signal and a distributor (2) that distributes the reproduced video signal (1a) to first and second HMD controllers (3, 4). A first signal processing section (5) of the first HMD controller (3) performs a signal processing to produce a video signal (5a) having only odd fields from the video signal (1a) fed from the distributor (2) and feeds the video signal (5a) to a first display unit (7). A second signal processing section (6) of the second HMD controller (4) performs a signal processing to produce a video signal (6a) having only even fields from the video signal (1a) and feeds the video signal (6a) to a second display unit (8). Thus the first display unit (7) displays a video based on the video signal (5a) having only the odd fields and the second display unit (8) displays a video based on the video signal (6a) having only the even fields. As a result, two different videos through one video output unit can be viewed.
